For some reason, all I get on FB is these fascists. I have started reporting them all for bullying and harrassment. Maybe they will get tired of responding to that and take that shit off my feed. Anyway, before I blocked the profile, I read this response. It is chefs kiss!
You know, as a girl I was raised in a tiny town down a dirt road from half of my family who all farmed. I grew up killing my first deer at 7, fishing everywhere there was a pond or a lake, riding atvs and side by sides, climbing trees, helping in the garden, church on Sundays, you name it. Then I grew up. I knew I wanted to do something that helped society and not just my tiny family but something that included my family too. I became a nurse. I had a daughter. A beautiful baby girl Id give my life for and change to be better for hers. I realized after becoming a mom and nurse working in community health, that yes I had a great childhood, but I was raised so wrong when it came to the beliefs my family had. I woke up. No one influenced me except for the single mom who was hardly able to make it to her kids checks up due to the lack of support. The older woman whose husband left her to deal with life all alone and she had no idea what medications to take or if she could afford them at all. The 40 year olds, whose labs looked so bad,of a different race than me who had no help and hardly any education because their parents and grandparents werent offered that education due to where we live and the horrible things we used to do them. Thats just a few examples of the things Ive seen. Arkansas under your rule and beliefs is one of the worst states when it comes to whats right for humanity. You do not teach the rulings of Jesus. If you did you wouldnt be calling your neighbors crazy. Jesus died for us all. I think that only a few people in this world truly grasp that. All the people I know that do, are believe it or not, woke! Maybe you should watch Pocahontas or a Martin Luther King Jr. documentary. Heck even reading the Bible really. It could seriously help open your eyes to how awful you and your administration are.

(20,684 posts)a long time ago after caving in to family pressure. I woke up the next morning with 80+ people who wanted me to "friend" them, none of which I knew.
I could see immediately that it was not a place where information would be safe and immediately closed my account.
If someone wants to talk, write etc. there are other ways to do that. I'm 77, and do not want to be totally accessible to every asshole on the planet.
There will be no "social media" for me, thank you! 😁
From a 74 y/o boomer.

(20,684 posts)we "boomers" aren't as senile as people think. There's a trend among parents with adolescent children of forbidding social media for their kids, and cutting their own accounts out of their lives as well. I really hope it expands and continues. "Social media" isn't social at all, and is a veritable cesspool.

(20,684 posts)I just closed my account before that crap went any further. The entire "friend" thing is ridiculous, in my opinion. Zuckerberg makes more money on selling everyone's data than he does in advertising, I think. To hell with that!

(172,161 posts)I mean, come on - your data is being sold far and wide.

(20,684 posts)I destroyed my cell phone the other day. Not on purpose. 😉 I left it on the roof of my car and drove off.
I lost all of the photos I'd taken over the years. People ask, "why didn't you upload them to "the cloud?" Then other people have access to them. They say it's safe, but I should believe the people who own and run it.......because?
I should have backed them up on my computer, so that's on me.
Our information is less secure than ever, though. It's sad.,
