NY-04: Republican candidate to challenge Gillen bows out

John DeGrace, who had been floated as the GOP candidate to challenge Rep. Laura Gillen (NY-04), has withdrawn from the race, Newsday reported.

The partisan primaries for the U.S. House of Representatives seat are scheduled for June 23, and according to Federal Election Commission data, three candidates for the 4th District are currently in the Republican primary race: Marvin Suber-Williams, Dennis McGrath and Brian Miller.

So far, McGrath is the only one to have received campaign funds, according to commission data. The report says he has received $10,000 in “other loans” as of April 13.

Efforts to reach DeGrace, former mayor of Valley Stream and current trustee on the Nassau Community College board, were unavailing as of April 13.
