Swalwell no longer taking contributions on "ActBlue"

Eric Swalwell is no longer taking contributions on ActBlue. Which either means he has shut down his campaign on ActBlue or ActBlue has kicked him off.

Put a fork in it.

This either means there was an actual fire, or the GOP was able to do what they did to Franken (though in all fairness to Franken he was accused of far less).

Better move quick. Democrats need to consolidate support because the last thing we need is two republicans at the top which is a real possibility with this jungle primary nonsense. I’m probably getting behind Porter at this point.

What a shame, I was probably going to vote for him in the primary.

The dick pics or snapchats alone put him at best in Anthony Weiner territory, which by itself shows terrible judgment and shitty behavior, especially if these happened after he was married.

With no prior elected experience. Not only is he a billionaire, he’s a hedge fund billionaire, who I viscerally distrust.

Second, I have major concerns he will steer government funds to areas he has business interests in, like Trump. I have worked with people in the “green energy” industry, and while there are legitimate businesses, there are a ton of scams. As it is, people in this state are really hurting financially and I really don’t want democrats pushing regressive crony capitalist policies with tax money. That may not be a popular take here, but I’m reading his history as I see it.

Hard pass.

Hmm.........

Also, these aren't like decades-old allegations -- most are alleged to have happened just in the past few years. Surely the statute of limitations has not run out. Why are they talking with CNN and not the cops? If they want to cut off the claims that this is just political ratfucking, they should go to the police immediately.

I wouldn't call it "disqualified", but not the best look.

When it comes to governor, temperment matters. Not so much for congress and senate.

They're held to a sweetness standard that does not apply to strong men.

Women candidates walk a gendered tightrope often known as the “double bind,” where they must balance voter expectations of masculinity and femininity, and often come out the worse for the comparison.

.... Today, women who cross that intangible boundary are either too soft or too tough, too loud or too timid. When men take charge of a situation, they are strong and self-confident; when a woman does, she might be considered competent by her peers — but all too often called a “bitch” behind her back.

I don’t know what happened or didn’t. I’m just telling you my heart hurts from this.

We are losing a truly great future governor and president, if he is innocent. If he isn’t, I really hope that Katie Porter didn’t do this because that would make so much harder for me to support her as much as I liked her. I’m not in their district anyway, not even in their state. Chews me up to see our good guys self-own like this. BRAH.

If he's out and if he's guilty?
Let's give it a minute, the story just came out.
