If Trump goes ahead and orders war crimes to be committed, there will be accountability. Not immediately, but it will come.

Trump may be insulated enough by the oligarchs that would give him asylum to escape The Hague. Hegseth and any commanding officers that carried out blatantly illegal orders will not be. And one of the ways that the US can climb out of the hell Trump has landed us in will be to extradite all those responsible to The Hague to face trial.

Besides, contaminating the Straits of Hormuz for decades or more is not a solution. His people will tell him that, at least? Does he have to talk to anyone or does he really just push a button?
