Gas Price Data Point From Texas:

Last edited Fri Mar 6, 2026, 09:50 AM - Edit history (1)

I drive a VW Beetle TDI (Diesel), and I love my bug. Before yesterday, my local gas station was charging $3.49 a gallon for diesel, up from $2.99 a week ago. I drove by yesterday and it had gone up to $4.49 a gallon!

More fuel (pun intended) for the blue tsunami!

dollars more a month for me. I don't understand how people deal with those giant trucks they use to go to the grocery store.

Pretty much only use gas in the winter because the ICE has to run to provide heat. Or if I'm driving over 26 miles in one trip.
That said, I fill it up about twice a year and the tank is like 11 gal. I run on electric for all the errands.

Although many new apartment constructions are building in EV charging stations.

From one station holding at $2.59 to another charging $2.99 for regular, to diesel ranging from about $3.89 to $4.99, the price gouging is nuts.
