(23,975 posts)They really wanted to kill their neighbors, and now they're wondering why they didn't get the blood in the streets they were promised, save for ICE murdering their enemies of course.

(22,011 posts)except cultural irrelevance. I hope I live long enough for that to happen. A time when they're looked at like the Amish. A few quaint little communities of people with strange, anachronistic beliefs.

How about the Heritage Foundation or the Family Research Council or the Cato Institute in this eulogy?
How about the media orgs that willfully re-branded hate groups as the Alt-Right and allowed them to enter the broader discussion as if anything they had to say ever fucking mattered?
I see nothing that has got us here in the first place thats dead here

(8,565 posts)Walton and all the other oligarchs, and Tech Bros Ultra rich planning to re-engineer and erase American culture along with ANYONE who is not part of their club. Who see the MAGA as a disposable tool to edit political society with.
The same sheep who were driven to support the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria with no questions at all. Never had a thought about who ACTUALLY benefitted from those actions, or who created the conditions which generated them.

(22,011 posts)If they were too dumb and hateful to see through this facade, how are they going to react the next time some jackass comes along and pushes their cult buttons? Dump Trump because he's not the right kind of hateful asshole?

(108,394 posts)Trump got to where he is by pushing the buttons of the easily manipulative. He went where others wouldn't dare touch. He said things that triggered people's deepest emotions and stroked their fears. His goons were able to get people to turn against things that ordinary people wouldn't have a problem with. He basically lit off a powder keg that was waiting to explode.
But by the time they've woken up and realized they got conned, it will be too late.

Not as long as Trump and people like him are still empowered.
