(8,414 posts)WHAT DID YOU THINK you were voting for?
People who thought this was a good idea honestly are getting what they deserve. They fucked around with Democracy by voting for a man who ATTEMPTED TO OVERTHROW our government. THAT wasn't bad enough, you need to have your partner deported. That's what it took. As long as the horror didn't end up on your doorstep. Well you voted for a Fascist monster and now Leopards are feasting.

(2,600 posts)How are you going to vote in November?
This SOB will still vote for Republicans. He will convince himself that Trump never meant this to happen, and there is somebody else in the deep state that took his partner away. I guarantee it.
I have zero fucks to give for these people unless they say:
1) I didn't think this was what I was voting for not now II realize they are doing exactly what they said they were going to do.
2) I made a huge mistake.
3) I may not be able to fix that, but I will never vote for Republicans again, and
4) I am committing to work every free minute to get people elected who will uphold the Constitution and the principles it stands for.
Anything less, F them. Seriously. I have no Fs left.

(36,258 posts)I spoke with another member about how he thought his wife would be ok because she had certain papers. In that case, he probably was already a little concerned because he brought up the topic. I did tell him I didn't think Trump would care what papers folks had.

(1,485 posts)Of course they asked for this. I knew it in 2015. He's a con man. And quite a good one at that.
Now he thinks he's going to destroy our democracy. Have we had enough yet? Apparently not. He's still in there. Lying, breaking the law, ignoring the constitution and now trying to control the vote.
What we are experiencing is horrendous. Once he gets the vote, it's over. I would not be surprised to see him run again.
Yep, it's pretty sad that we even have to experience this.

(6,108 posts)and putting things in place that he told everyone he planned to do. Its not like it was some deep, dark secret. No, that was the Epstein files. Did he think he could drop tRumps name and that would magically solve any issues his wife/best friend had? Kinda like knowing the secret hand shake?
These people unfortunately a LOT of them had to get their ox gored before they let it sink in that tRump does not care about them. He has little regard for anyone outside of himself and a very small circle of family. And they could be on thin ice with him if they do not kiss the ring and bend the knee. How could anyone with two brain cells not know that? I mean there is dumb and then there is willful blindness.
Id like to say I feel empathy for the guy, but it is hard to muster up kind feelings for him since his vote contributed to where we are now. The best I can say is I hope he learned his lesson. But I doubt it.

The only reason this gal wasn't deported years ago is that long standing policy of favoring undocumented Cubans because they're fleeing a Comm, unist country instead of a "normal" dictatorship that is friendly to the US. That should have ended with the Mariel disaster.
I'm having a really hard time summoning much sympathy for either one of these people. She's a sleaze and he's a fool and likely they both thought no one from Cuba would ever get deported, only Haitians and Central Americans would ever have to go.
