BREAKING: Trump threatens to DEPORT Robert De Niro in unhinged tirade after State of the Union.
In a late-night meltdown that stunned even longtime observers, President Donald Trump launched a furious attack on Hollywood icon Robert De Niro and floated the idea of deporting him.
Yes. Deporting him. An American citizen.
After facing heckling during his State of the Union address, Trump took to Truth Social to unload on critics, lumping De Niro in with Democratic lawmakers Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, and calling the Oscar-winning actor sick, demented, and seriously CRIMINAL. He then suggested De Niro and others should get on a boat and leave the country.
Lets pause there.
Robert De Niro born in Manhattan, raised in New York City, one of the most celebrated American actors of all time was just threatened with exile by a sitting president for criticizing him.
Trump mocked De Niro for becoming emotional and claimed some of the actors statements were seriously criminal, though he offered no evidence of any crime. Instead, the post read like a stream-of-consciousness rant, filled with insults, name-calling, and baseless accusations.
This wasnt policy. It wasnt debate. It was pure grievance politics.
And the target wasnt some anonymous online critic it was a Hollywood legend who has spent decades shaping American culture.
Trumps comments follow a familiar pattern: when challenged, escalate. When criticized, threaten. From attacking members of Congress to now fantasizing about deporting a U.S.-born actor, the rhetoric keeps getting darker.
Legal experts have long warned that labeling political criticism as criminal is a dangerous line to cross. Free speech doesnt disappear because it hurts the presidents feelings. But in Trumps world, dissent equals disloyalty.
The irony? De Niros crime appears to be publicly opposing Trumps policies.
Thats not criminal. Thats democracy.
And if speaking out against power now earns you a ticket on a boat, the question isnt what De Niro did wrong. Its how far this rhetoric is willing to go.

(52,836 posts)I don't know what to do about people who are willfully ignorant. It is rather terrifying how many there are and how stubbornly they cling to their misconceptions no matter how much evidence there is to disprove their beliefs. When confronted with irrefutable facts, they just double-down.

Trump fires off crazed rant threatening to deport Hollywood legend: 'Seriously criminal' www.rawstory.com/trump-267533...
https://www.rawstory.com/trump-2675333499/
Trump then sneered at actor Robert DeNiro, whose criticism he claimed was worthy of criminal prosecution.
"They should actually get on a boat with Trump Deranged Robert De Niro, another sick and demented person with, I believe, an extremely Low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he is doing or saying some of which is seriously CRIMINAL!" Trump posted. "When I watched him break down in tears last night, much like a child would do, I realized that he may be even sicker than Crazy Rosie ODonnell, who is right now in Ireland trying to figure out how to come back into our beautiful United States."
"The only difference between De Niro and Rosie is that she is probably somewhat smarter than him, which isnt saying much," he added. "The good news is that America is now Bigger, Better, Richer, and Stronger than ever before, and its driving them absolutely crazy! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP."

(3,750 posts)The man is extremely dangerous. It doesn't matter that he is easy to ridicule. It is a fool's errand to hope he will self-destruct. Don't underestimate the threat. He is deranged and dangerous and has a personal armed paramilitary force. He must be stopped. Midterms may not be sufficient as a strategy.

I guess he does not take the advise of Vito Corleone in Godfather Part I.
DeNiro played a younger version of Corleone in Godfather Part II.

... a raging psychopath who is determined to make ANY criticism of him or his policies a crime, preferably punishable by death. And please do not forget that Trump runs his mouth about what he wants to do, but it is malignant filth like "Nosferatu" Miller who actually implement Trump's wet dreams of malice and depravity.
And those warehouses they're buying up all over the country? Those won't be used to incarcerate the supposed criminal immigrants they claim are "ruining the blood of our nation", they're going to be filled with Democrats, people like you and me. The entrance might have a motto above it like "Arbeit macht Frei", But there will be no exit, unless it's a garbage chute to a lime pit.
I heard a Senator say, on the day before the election, "Sure, Trump is dangerous, but he's not a danger to democracy!" I suggested that he might want to walk that one back a parsec or two.
This terrorist regime hasn't even hit third gear yet, so if you think, oh, we can ride this out, think again. This is going to be a fight for your very life, and the lives of everyone you care about, so shitcan the complacency and buckle up; it's gonna be a rough ride.

There is plenty of shit TSF says and does we can criticize without twisting it into something else. Even "Trump Says De Niro and Others should 'Get on a boat' in unhinged tirade after the SOTU" gets the point across that TSF is a big crybaby and can't handle criticism.
This kind of inaccuracy just gives MAGAts the fodder they need to claim we're deranged leftist lunatics.
