What's interesting about this video is the fairly straight lines around the sinkhole. If you look closely, the sink holes follow the painted line where cars are supposed to stop, the painted line for the lane, and along the curb. If you go to the 12 second mark in the video, you can see a rectangular area under the truck as well as as the back end of the area extended behind the car. This tells me there was some repair work done there recently and it wasn't repaired correctly.

(93,289 posts)"As our investigation continues, it appears the water main break was caused by the collapsed concrete panels. Our crews have been on site through the night making repairs, which will continue today," the Metropolitan Utilities District said in a statement.
However, Omaha Public Works said "all indications are the water main break caused the collapse. A water main break is the only thing that can cause the scale of a void that led to the pavement collapse."

(3,754 posts)Austin Rowser, city engineer with Omaha Public Works, said during a press conference Wednesday that the void under the sinkhole is 30 by 50 feet wide and 10 to 15 feet deep.
