With the u.s. population around 343 million, that means the average American is nearly $1000 richer!

It makes me sick that one person would not only have as much money as he has (and others of his ilk), but want even more all for himself. Let them eat cake indeed.

It's not liquid. It's not just money sitting in a bank that he can give away LOL.

(56,122 posts)It yeah, it's the valuation based on everything Forbes and others who attempt to calculate billionaires' worth know.
Yes, the last single share trade of Tesla isn't necessarily the exact price musk could sell all his shares at, etc., and its entirely possible these billionaires have other assets and debts out of view.
But it's as good of a guess as any as to the right ballpark.
The point is Republican love to play rhetoric games with economic statistics and this absurdity points out why most people aren't feeling good about the economy even if the aggregate statistics might seem otherwise healthy.
