snowball fights at Washington Square Park in Manhattan

Some cops had snowballs thrown at them today in NYC. The police commissioner said people were being completely disrespectful of the cops. The president of the police union wants everyone involved and charged with felony assaults. For throwing snow balls.
One cop took out his pepper spray, but did not use it.
Another one on bullhorn said "Go back and do your thing. We just needed to to make sure there's no trouble. What you're doing is fine. Enjoy yourselves" Smartest cop on the scene.

The snowball fight was preplanned in Washington Square Park. If the cops were all smart, they should have joined in on the snow ball fight. You know build up some good relations with people there?
Mamdani said this
"I've seen the videos of kids throwing snowballs at NYPD officers in Washington Square Park. Officers, like all city workers, have been out in a historic blizzard, keeping New Yorkers safe and cars moving. Treat them with respect. If anyone's catching a snowball, it's me," This was in reference to his decision to reopen schools today after they were closed yesterday due to the blizzard.
