I do know there was very little hoopla in the media about the women's hockey winning gold...in overtime...against Canada.

It is all the same as the men, but the women's team was not honored and celebrated nearly enough.

The men hadn't won since 1980.

NO Gold medal is routine.

That gold medal game had the highest viewership for a women's hockey game ever. 7.7 million people tuned in, and I think that was just the US ratings. And, it wasn't in Prime Time. That they haven't gotten the same honor as the men pisses me off to no end. I can't imagine the Paralympics sled hockey team will get ANY attention, either,and they're the heavy favorites for a gold medal, as usual. You know damn well Fat Bastard thinks they're all icky, because most of them are missing body parts. (For those who have never seen it, sled hockey is a blast to watch!)

I'm sure the men's team can do much better without breaking a sweat (or a tooth).

Maybe we just hadn’t given them enough participation trophies, and so had to make a big deal out of this one.

On the Bulwark podcast this morning, Tim Miller was trying to set up Jonathan Last to goof on Kash Patel for a while. Last instead went in on the US Men's Hockey team, as well he should. The only correct take thus far: they were worse than Patel for allowing it.

As far as Kash being there, he basically invited himself in. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knows some of the guys on the team.

I would like to think that by this point, someone would have said something. I get that they were caught up in the moment and put on the spot, but you'd think there would be some hindsight.

should have been

"The women's team should also be invited".

Sorry to disappoint anyone, but that is likely the truth for most of the players and coaches. They loved rubbing elbows with Kash and now they get to meet Trump.
