The man killed at Mar-a-lago has been named

The man killed was identified by investigators as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin, according to a person familiar with the matter. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss details of the investigation.

Braeden Fields, Martin's cousin, reacted with disbelief. He described Martin as quiet, afraid of guns and from a family of avid Trump supporters.

.......
He said his cousin didn't discuss politics.

"We are big Trump supporters, all of us. Everybody," Fields said, but his cousin was "real quiet, never really talked about anything."

Moore County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday it had “no prior history involving Martin” before his family reported him missing in Sunday’s wee hours.

O.K. then why was one of your “everybody bunch” looking to kill him or somebody @ his home?

Just asking.

My trump-loving family members think I don’t talk much, either. And that’s because they’re not worth talking to.

I don’t think he should’ve tried to do what he allegedly tried to do. At the same time, I also don’t think talking to one of his cousins gets us the whole story.

Hunting his idol. He’s surrounded by it. I don’t mean this as snarking AT ALL but it feels like Trump Derangement Syndrome.

He had to know Trump wasn’t there. That’s easy to find.

A can of gas? Burn it down? Self immolation?

But silence can just mean you don't want to be argued with by everybody and put down or have them angry at you.

A few weeks ago on the day of the campus walkout against ICE a Trump supporter brought in a Trump flag. I told him to put it away. It vanished, from my perspective, but he'd put it on his desk; the assignment was on computer and the flag was under it. When I got up and saw it, I told him to stop trolling other students and just put the flag away, as in immediately. He complied.

Another student was visibly upset by this idjit. But nobody said a word to confront him--and even my "confronting" was straightforward district and state policy--keep politically controversial topics out of the classroom unless relevant, then let all voices be heard in a moderated format. Since mine is a science classroom, politics (unless it's content-related, IDK, NASA funding?) has no place.

The upset student finally asked to see the counselor but just she just sat in the counseling office to get over her angry and sense of hurt. But did she say anything?

No. As the Trump supporter said in defense of having his flag out, nobody said anything so they must all agree. (No, she was insecure about her environment and refused to say anything. Silence implies silence--we can infer consent or intimidation or non-confrontation or simple indifference, but that's on us.)

If silence implies consent, then it's at best a subcategory of preference falsification.

Figures it’s a trump supporter, but then why is he armed at the residence?

#2. The cop needs to be fired. “ The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss details of the investigation.” We have lost all integrity as a society when cops leak to the press and medical doctors give away our private medical information.

Someplace I just got tired of the lack of integrity in government, police, and healthcare about disclosing info to the press when your job specifically says not to.

The man entered the north gate of the property as another vehicle was exiting and was confronted by two Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County sheriff's deputy, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.

"He was ordered to drop those two pieces of equipment that he had with him. At which time he put down the gas can, raised the shotgun to a shooting position," Bradshaw said at a brief press conference. The two agents and the deputy "fired their weapons to neutralize the threat."
