As historically bad as his numbers are, there's still that 39%, and in some polls 37% that support his policies no matter how much they are personally being hurt.
As President Donald Trump prepares to address the nation Tuesday evening, Americans remain generally sour about his performance, with majorities disapproving of his handling of priority initiatives while saying he has overreached the authority of his office, according to a Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll.
The presidents approval rating stands at 39 percent positive and 60 percent negative, including 47 percent who say they strongly disapprove. The last time Trumps disapproval touched 60 percent was shortly after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Among registered voters, Trumps approval is 41 percent and his disapproval is 58 percent.

(54,719 posts)He owns ICE. He owns tariff costs. He owns ACA demise. Not to mention the economy and jobs, MAHA lies.
He is unlikely to be extended the benefit of the doubt on much at all.
Everything he says will now be parsed for lies going forward.
His credibility is all but gone.
He can tell us about his good will all he wants, will the public believe him?
The 39% are in denial. The cult's fix is weakening.

(3,225 posts)I will always vote Dsmocratic! I will always support the candidate with a D behind their name.
But the polls Im seeing indicate that while a majority dont like Trump or the GOP, theyre skeptical of our party.
Im going to be doing my part to promote the good that the Democrats are doing and the positive platform of affordable healthcare, accountability for the Epstein saga, and justice for all.
In my opinion, Democrats should have a viable plan for dealing with jobs and AI moving forward. The public will run to whichever party articulates a vision.
