Republicans choosing to have the Epstein deposition of Wexner at his mansion is an amazing self-own

...and House Democrats press conference in front of the opulent-looking home is a brilliant move that visualizes and frames Wexner's moneyed influence which he used to basically finance Epstein's criminal empire.

The setting is even more damning, since, as one of the speakers outside the home mentioned, the mansion was the alleged site of one of the abuses according to at least one victim who says she wasn't allowed to leave the premises by security who held her there for hours.

Whatever advantage republicans thought they were gaining by agreeing to this setting (it's the majority call) is baffling, as it's just heightened the intrigue and focus on Wexner's affluence which he lavished inexplicably on Jeffrey Epstein.

Like someone said, Wexner's name is all over businesses and buildings as you drive into this town.

watch the presser outside the mansion.

LIVE: House Dems react to billionaire Les Wexner's Epstein files deposition

Top Democrats on the House Oversight Committee hold a news conference after retired retail magnate Lex Wexner's deposition in the investigation into the late convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein. The deposition comes after the Justice Department unredacted part of a 2019 FBI document that included a reference to Wexner as a co-conspirator.

People at home are comfortable, especially people who have a strong need to control and to impress people. It's easier to see changes in comfortable people when talking to them. It's a good spot to question someone hiding things.

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib @RepRashida
Today we deposed Les Wexner under oath. Wexner provided an enormous amount of funding enabling Epstein to commit his crimes and sexually abuse women and children. We heard directly from survivors about his involvement. They told us to follow the money. There would be no Epstein island without Wexner's money.
