It needs to be done at the federal level. doing it at the state level means they leave the state.

Oh, and the OP has been a member of DU for two years.
Perhaps because I live in CA, but the discussion about the 'billionaires' tax is hard to stay away from. The sources listed are not only credible, but Rozenberg Quarterly appears to be an exceptional publication. This from their About page...

Rozenberg Quarterly aims to be a platform for academics, scientists, journalists, authors and artists, in order to offer background information and scholarly reflections that contribute to mutual understanding and dialogue in a seemingly divided world. By offering this platform, the Quarterly wants to be part of the public debate because we believe mutual understanding and the acceptance of diversity are vital conditions for universal progress.

In some ways, worse than an OP with just a video link.
"Welcome to DU" as they say.

(3,719 posts)4. I believe the OPs title hints at what the articles are about.
Newsom is coming out against a measure to finally fairly tax billionaires in his state. I believe he first said he was for it, but after several whiny billionaires threatened to leave the state, he has said he is against it.

(108,246 posts)9. Hell no! Like nearly all of our problems have been caused by billionaires.
Homelessness, the gas crisis, the housing crisis, student loan debt, immigration.. all of this shit has been the direct result of billionaires stealing all of our money and then demanding more while throwing their victims under the bus. It's way past time these parasitic fuckheads were dealt with and treated like the screaming brats they are.
