The AI video of a fake George Will that was the cause of considerable comment here yesterday

is getting a lot of play on YouTube today with no warning attached to it as of a couple of minutes ago. I don't know how to do anything about it, but maybe one of you might.

It's marked synthetic. I don't understand why Google won't take it down.

If you hit the 3 dots next to Save, you can report it.

Google makes money from videos whether they are valid or not. There's no incentive to take it down.

Google is one of the mega-companies forcing AI on us.

I think George Will himself would have to complain. Then, Google might respond.

Threads has turned into an AI cesspool. There is not moderation or community notes like X.

7. Facebook was an AI cesspool first. Zuckerberg doesn't care how harmful AI slop is if it increases

engagement. A lot of the accounts boosting AI slop on Facebook are apparently bots. Same with X, and probably with Threads.

GenAI is destroying the internet.

8. Most of the AI users on YouTube don't add that label voluntarily, though they're supposed to. YouTube

At 78, I am growing tired of new technology. Not as tired as I am of the Republican shit show, but tired nonetheless.

3. So many of these videos are AI now. Most of the time it's obvious, but

we should always check before posting (and even the non-AI videos are usually a waste of time).

12. That label can apparently be added some time after the video is uploaded. It's supposed to be there

when it's uploaded, but it looks as though a lot of AI-using YouTubers are only adding it when forced to.
