He works like a fiend to keep his themes current just before "Rose Monday" (today) and for this one day, he is the conscience of Germany (Europe, really).

His image of Putin manipulating the German far right (the AfD) could just as easily have referred to his manipulating of our Republicans. Maybe he just ran out of time and space, or maybe he just chose to keep that theme local. I don't know, I've never met him, though I'd offer to buy him dinner if I did!

I can't imagine what law firm would have agreed to take this lawsuiit, or what for. Defamation? I have no idea what for, since I don't know what more could be done to damage Putin's reputation than Putin has accomplished for himself already. Asswipe & McHole LLC?

Anyway, here is another of Tilly's floats this year that might just have answered Putin's lawsuit in advance:

Trump, of course, probably can't find Düsseldorf (or even Germany) on a map, and the day after Rose Monday, the floats are quickly forgotten. But if you are the but of the joke, I guess you don't forget as quickly. Putin, as one of socialism's faithful guardians in Germany while he was with the KGB, is fluent in German, and would be familiar with the Karneval tradition in the Rheinland. If he took a look at the floats this year, he would definitely NOT have been amused. But he would also know that Karneval floats have a short shelf life in the press. If he was irked enough to initiate a lawsuit over something that will be forgotten in three days, his skin must be wearing thin in his old age.
