Congressional hearings are often as effective as a fart in a windstorm

It seems to me that questions andanswers are largely reduced to speeches.,prticularly by the members.

Might it not be better if each side were to appoint a small subset of all of the members of the committees and allow that small subset to ask the questions.

Alternatively, each side could be given this option to reduce the numbers of people who ask questions.

I should think that two or three people asking questions would be more effective and allow more time and more focus for the questioners.

They don't want to ask questions, any more than they want to answer them.

It's all grandstanding these days. Dems are better than repubs, but even they fail sometimes.
