So what is it, 'Don't tread on me' or 'Just comply'?

Some things just feel like gravity: it demonstrably exists and there is nothing you can do to affect it in any real discernable way.

Conservative hypocrisy feels a lot like gravity in that sense.

It's a fun exercise to look at how they fare just against the Ten Commandments they pretend are so important that the Constitution should be ignored in order to display them all over the place:

And it obviously goes much deeper than that--but that's a whole series of discussions.

But the anecdotal stories about people that voted for the orange abomination seeing the light are important--and much needed during these dark days of seemingly infinite awfulness spewing out of the Administration like a broken sewer main.

And occasionally, one of them really gets it spot on:

“The community that I just left, many of them have, ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ flags flying,” she added. “But you know what their reply back to what happened with Renee is? ‘Just comply.’ So what is it, ‘Don’t tread on me’ or ‘Just comply?’”

There are so many of those things that we progressives have been saying to them, but until people they once agreed with start saying it to them it will not have any impact.

The good news is that at least a few of them are starting to....

I’m pretty sure that this lot would not have supported the American Revolution. Even though I’ve heard them mindlessly, repeating that the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of patriots. I don’t see them out there, watering it with their blood.

If it's because of an infectious disease that killed millions world wide asking you to do something with very limited negative impacts, it's don't tread on me. If it's violating the constitution, mostly targeting people who either don't look like you or don't agree with you politically, they are just fine being trampled.

When the government sent actual stormtroopers to gun down its own citizens in the streets of American cities, the Gunfuckers sat on their hands.
