I’m weary of fake news posts. Thank you, niyad, for this thread.

We could plainly label satire, or confine it to a particular forum, and mercilessly delete fake news, banning those who post it from posting again for a temporary period, with a 3 strikes and out rule for a longer ban.

It’s tough not to be snookered by fake news, and it’s going to get tougher. None of us can shirk responsibility for vigilance against it. Spreading misinformation and disinformation is reprehensible.

Way too much thoughtless reposting of video here with no summary, and too many who never check back.

I do not trust most of the msm, these days I assume they are lying until proven otherwise. A sad state of affairs. There are a few (VERY FEW) sources to which I do give more credence.

Not everyone who “fails” to scream at Donald Trump and call him a.fucking greasy pig to his face is a whore protecting their access for Fox News Lite. There’s work to be done, and part of that sometimes involves the simple art of standing to one side while watching him trip over his own lips on the way down the stairs.

I'll see an interview and think it's fine but lots of people mad the interviewer didn't fact check "push back" every single thing, but that's impossible most of the time.

when you see something remarkable, START by assuming it is fake, then try to prove it real with reliable sourcing.

The fakes are easier to make than they’ve ever been and so they come at us faster - but fake information has always been a problem.

I was caught early on posting something from Facebook that wasn’t factual and had to delete it. Since then I try to always post the source.
