There is no reason to object to any of the ICE reforms Schumer and Jeffries are demanding, but Thune is

Thune and Republicans are going to shut down the Government because they refuse to acknowledge the public anger on ICE enforcement tactics and they are unwilling to implement any reforms.

Remember, not a single Republican even showed up to the Congressional forum discussing the many extremely problematic, dangerous and deadly tactics of the ICE enforcement operation.

Schumer put out that letter listing which reforms must be implemented because he's not going to bother talking to them if they are not serious and are not willing to address it.

As of now, Thune and Republicans are not serious. They are talking about shoving their horrendous SAVE act into the funding bill. Republicans are not talking about any measures to rein in ICE.
