Or, many other candidates for villainy.

If nobody wants bitcoins, if nobody has the money to buy them, they are worth nothing.

Emergency fund balances are down, and one-third of Americans say their savings wouldn't cover one month of living expenses, according to a U.S. News survey

Key Takeaways
• More than two in five Americans couldn't cover an emergency expense of $1,000 from savings, according to a new U.S. News survey.
• The median emergency fund balance has dropped by half from last year's survey.
• Those who owe student loans are concerned about how coming changes will affect their emergency savings.

Thank you for the discussion, malaise.

When it does is when it breaks. Its on very very thin ice so to speak. I heard 1 economist say when the force driving an economy is that shallow it only takes one thing to topple it.

It is way worse than any public numbers being released. Yeah, I know we know that.

I am in a space where I monitor such things very closely in a couple of different professions and industry sectors. I have never in my entire career seen it this bleak. That includes the COVID shutdown period and the Great Recession. Just a couple of months ago I would have said my job is about as "safe" as private employment gets. I'm not taking anything for granted now.

"We have the best economy in the history of economies," Trump told reporters. "This is all fake news by radical, terrorist 'demonrats' and I'm going to have ICE and Kash Patel hunt them down and imprison them on Manhattan Island with Snake Pliskin. We'll see how they enjoy that!"

from my favorite fictional serial killer. Tom Dorsey's books about the state of Florida - and the people who inhabit said state - are hilarious, and Serge Storms only murders bad people who have it coming to them. He also invents ingenious ways to commit these acts as well.

Snake is still in L.A? He needs to get back to New York where he's really needed. 😉
