The scammers and grifters, fast talking marketeers, rentiers (investment managers, landlords, and middlemen) skimming off the top with other people's money, Nepo-Babies and parasitic "networkers" using patronage to get advantages, and think to themselves "I can do the same thing, why aren't I rich too?"
Venture Capital is just another way they might be able to get richer quicker if they could just get their foot in the door.
Venture Capital can be harmful, yeah, but they don't want to regulate or get rid of it because they might need it to get really rich in the future, or maybe it will affect their 401k or other retirement investment funds they are holding on to.
