Republicans are 'very concerned about Texas' turning blue: GOP senator

While Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives have a razor-thin with just a four-seat advantage, their six-seat advantage in the U.S. Senate is seen as more likely to hold in November. However, that could change if the GOP loses the traditional Republican stronghold of Texas.

Semafor reported Wednesday that the contentious Republican U.S. Senate primary in Texas is making some Republican senators nervous. Incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) – who is running for a fifth term — is hoping to fend off challenges from both Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) and Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas). Cornyn and Paxton recently exchanged barbs on social media, with Cornyn's campaign pointing out that Paxton has been accused of infidelity following the collapse of his 38-year marriage to Texas Republican state senator Angela Paxton.....

The contentious Texas Republican Senate primary is particularly worrisome to Republicans in the wake of Democrat Taylor Rehmet's upset victory in a deep-red Texas state senate district last weekend. Rehmet prevailed over Trump-endorsed Leigh Wambsganss, who also out-raised Rehmet in the special election. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), who is the #4 Senate Republican, told Semafor that Democrats are "really motivated" in 2026 and that seats like Texas' shouldn't be taken for granted.

"We need the candidate that can win in the general," Capito said, adding that Republicans are "very concerned about Texas" given the "money coming out" of donors' pockets that could be spent elsewhere.

And, Shelley honey, judging by that TX state Senate race, it won't just be "really motivated" Democrats going to do in all y'all. You're losing your own, too. It's going to be even worse after y'all redistrict Texas and other states, which is just going to spread GOP numbers in each district even thinner. And, you can throw all the money you want at it. It won't matter. From what I understand, the Republican candidate who lost that Senate race spent $2 million. The Democrat spent less than $250 K. It will be no different in November, especially as more of the Epstein evidence gets released.

She claims he has . . . Wait for it . . . You guessed it . . . George Soros dark money!

They have no lie about everything!

I’ve noticed on fb that the party of pedophiles in the comments section are getting pushback. It really is a thing of beauty.

All the ads are selling us fear Sharia Law and the border. I’m not sure who their daddy is going to endorse but they are all pandering and it’s quite funny and disgusting at the same time.

I just worry about State interference. They’ve already given our voter rolls to the fascist regime.

it's like they've run out of their magic red meat bullshit "issues" to rally their ignorant base and are having to recycle old ones - you are correct, it is sheer desperation

and FUCK that fascist Trump humping POS Abbott, it's all "states rights" and "independence" with Texas but then they just hand over the voter rolls to the Feds, no fight at all, fucking DISGUSTING

they have to find another manufactured outrage.

When the fascists post on fb, they are getting a lot of pushback. Taylor Rehmet's opponent is claiming Taylor received dark money from George Sorors. Funny thing is she is a lair, big surprise. She's the one who received dark money.
She's in favor of violence as a form of dialogue. Someone on fb had a video they took of her and he asked her how it was going to feel losing to Taylor. Her response was to knock his phone away. She could have easily said We'll see after the votes are counted. But she decided violence was the appropriate response. I wish I would have saved the video as it was funny af, yet sad and pathetic.

honestly I feel giddy thinking about any possibility of Texas turning blue - it is getting harder and harder for even conservative dimwits to overlook the increasing fascism and hysteria of the greedy old pig party
