Beshear doesn't get to pick his replacement.

His replacement could be a flaming MAGAt which would be bad. He is beyond doing any real harm and if it came to a real important vote, like impeachment, he would probably vote with the Democrats. As long as he's wiggling he won't hesitate to stick it to Trump. It's a small victory for us every day he sits in his office and does nothing.

The best we can hope for is a long, slow, drawn out, terminal diagnosis with much anguish in the interim. To give him plenty of time to obsess about how to unwind all of the damage he's done before he has to explain it to St Peter.

I wish no ill on the man, but as of this moment, he hasn't shown one ounce of contrition much less an actual right-side-of-history flavored vote.

A liar, a cheat, and an enabler of the worst president in history. He was the one man who R's would have followed early on during the impeachments if he had been a true patriot.

None of that should encourage us to wish him ill or dead.
Our actions say a lot, especially what's in our hearts. Let's not give him the space to darken ours.

But I sure as hell will not commend him for contributing to this nation's current situation.

I refuse to allow repukes to diminish my humanity. But, you cannot make me sympathize much for people whose main goal in life seems to be harming people and enriching themselves.
