(313 posts)5. Add indifference to that.
The oligarchs are well protected by the outstanding ability of this country's citizens to ignore crimes (often on technicalities that disregard the merits of the case, which is particularly galling to me) and vilify victims.

(9,810 posts)7. That should be the 2026 and 2028 election season rallying cry.
That's something people on the left and the right can agree on after seeing the goons in the streets killing our citizens.

(43,164 posts)10. Wilhoit's Law. That's what this restates. The guy doesn't even give Frank Wilhoit credit.
In 2018, Frank Wilhoit defined conservatism as:
"There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect".

"There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect".
Misattribution of Wilhoit's law
A quotation popularly known as "Wilhoit's law" is often incorrectly attributed to Francis M. Wilhoit:
Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.[10]
However, it was actually a 2018 blog response by 59-year-old Ohio composer Frank Wilhoit, years after Francis Wilhoit's death.
