Nearing the End of His Life, Donald Trump Is Laying Waste to Everything He Can.

It seems so simple to me. His most recent abhorrent act was to smear the name of President John F. Kennedy by adding his own name to the cultural center named for the assassinated President.

He is destroying institutions, wiping out traditions, and smearing his own excrement on things Americans have held as sacred for 250 years. Before he dies, he wants to destroy the very Constitution that founded our nation.

It's so obvious. Why are Republicans letting him do this? That is the question we should all be asking. If we do not stop him, he will inflict deadly harm to our nation and wipe out much of what we have accomplished.

It is so very sad to watch...

Thank goodness I am in Denver, and one of the first targets Russia and others would target.....better to be vaporized in a nano-second than die a slow death from radiation like so many did in Chernobyl.......

Oh, and speaking of Chernobyl.....the old sarcophagus was deteriorating, so Ukraine spent a zillion dollars installing a new one.
Putin sent a drone down, punching a hole in the new sarcophagus, and now radiation is leaking once again since it is still melting down..........cute, huh.......Putin has been saying that he will launch similar attacks on all the other Nuclear Power Generators in Ukraine.......

Cheyenne Mountain's NORAD is maintained, but not staffed as it has been for many decades. Its workings, and personnel, as I understand it have been moved to installations in the nearby city of Colorado Springs......

NORAD was brilliant at the time it was constructed......it is a waste of money in the world of warfare, as it exists today....but they are maintaining it to be immediately occupied if needed???????

Every once in a while, I listen to the song: EVE OF DESTRUCTION from the 60's that along with another 100 war songs has been banned from the airwaves of every AM radio station in the nation by order of Cheney/Rumsfeld prior to their IRAQ war....

It's the behind the curtain monied corporate class with the wealth. Trump is a vessel for them and their ambitions to create a corporate run, christian police state, and really, I don't even think they care about the christrian nationalists. Like Trump, they are a useful tool for their end game. Trump will be gone sooner than later and what will be left is their encroaching control of our political machine. Organizations like the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society are not interested in democracy. They are recruiting the people that will run the political machinery to follow the orders of the oligarchy. Once they have served their purpose, they too will disappear,

The GOP so adored Reagan that they named everything after him that they could get away with - but at least they waited until he was out of office or dead, and AFAIK Reagan himself never asked for such honors. I was not a Reagan fan, to put it mildly, but I will give him credit for avoiding blatant self-aggrandizement and observing some basic presidential protocols. And Kennedy became effectively canonized after his assassination, and even Republicans supported naming many places after him. The Kennedy Center was (and I am using the past tense for obvious reasons) a treasured national venue for all kinds of performances, not just those approved of by any particular administration. The Kennedy Space Center was so named in large part because of JFK's support for the Apollo program. Trump wants to leave a bigger footprint than either Kennedy or Reagan because that's the way he is, and he probably knows at some level that the only way for that to happen is for him to do it himself while he's alive and in office. And he wants to be able to see and revel in the monuments and institutions with his name on them because that's the way he is.

Love Biden, did a great job and accomplished many things. But he was cut from the old school way of doing politics. "Statesmanship" "Honor" "Protocol". Same with our leaders when we wanted to investigate Bush war crimes and Trump v1.0. "Impeachment is off the table".

Whoever comes after Trump to clean up the mess (we are assuming its a democrat), needs to have the fortitude to remove/rename all these stupid things Trump is doing. Who cares if Trump is dead by then. He and his name need to get flushed down the toilet. Knock down the arch. Or, just pull all funding for it and let it rot and fall down. Same with the ballroom.

Making wealth by using capital has lead to taking control away from a democracy by using capital. Now that the elite capitalists have control of most everything in the US. What will they do next to the US? Nothing good that's for sure. Absolute power always corrupts and always leads to evil.

History says next up for the US is, war inside the Continental US, famine, uncontrolled diseases, mass killings. I guess we already have mass killings and some famine. Uncontrolled diseases are just getting started. Pedo Trump is trying to start a war in Venezuela but wait till it comes to our shores. O

I have to beg to differ.

It's typical psychopath behavior. It may have a tad of influence but it's highly unlikely.

Characteristics of Psychopaths

1. Aggressive, callous, and cunning
2. Complete absence of conscience and empathy
3. Very adept at manipulating others
4. Willingness to engage in immoral, criminal conduct
5. Willingness to take what they want and do as they please, regardless of who is hurt or wronged
6. Deceptive ability to appear outwardly benevolent
7. Deceptive ability to behave in superficially charming ways to hide purely selfish motives
8. Willingness to use intimidation and violence to control others in order to satisfy their own needs
9. Willingness to intentionally violate the basic inherent human rights of others
10. Complete absence of any sense of guilt or remorse for the harm their actions have caused to others
11. Rationalization of their own immoral behavior
12. Will attempt to lay blame upon someone else for their own conduct
13. Denial, will deny their own wrongdoing outright
14. Utter contemptuousness toward the feelings and desires of their fellow beings
15. Pathological lying, will say anything without any concern for truth to advance their own hidden agendas
16. Ablity to feign [fake] normal human emotions and empathy
17. Distorted sense of the consequences of their actions
18. Total failure to accept any responsibility for their own socially irresponsible ways
19. Strong bellef that they will never be brought to justice for their criminal behavior

You may find that several of the points on this description support that position.

It is, however so very sad to watch.

Love you.

Fri Dec 19, 2025, 11:25 AM
Dec 19

As the Allies neared Paris he ordered Paris also be systematically destroyed. Fortunately for France and the world the Commandant of the city, Dietrich von Choltitz, refused to carry out the order and evacuated the majority of German troops from the city to prevent fighting. As the Allies closed in on Berlin Hitler ordered everything of any value remaining in Germany be destroyed. He said that because the German people were to weak to triumph in his war of conquest they should be left with nothing. To his credit, Minister of Armaments Albert Speer sabotaged his orders and prevented large scale destruction.

Two points here:

First, dictatorial monsters want to burn everything burned down before their demise. If they can't have it, no one else should have it.

Second, even in the worse tyrannical regime, men and women can stand up to the tyrant and stop their worst impulses.

It did require courage on the part of Speer and Choltitz to defy Hitler. So far, with only a few tiny examples, I fail to see any Republicans with the courage to prevent Trump from burning down the country. At this point in time, Republicans are the only people that can stop him.

Your statement is vintage 2025, but not applicable in 2026. I'm not kidding anyone. I'm not talking Great Recession of 2008. I'm talking worse than the 1929 to '32 Great Crash. I'm talking the collapse of the AI investment mania bubble. The entire banking system crashes. Mass unemployment and literal starvation across the country, but worse in the red states than blue. Then those 10s of millions of hateful, etc. Rs will show up with torches and pitch forks looking for the people they elected.

And what will Trump's reaction be? It will be the same as Hoover's - none. It's all Joe Biden's fault after all. It's the greatest economy ever seen. At that point, in order to protect themselves, the Republicans will force out Trump and the worst of his toadies. If we are lucky that will be before mass armed rioting and looting breaks out. We will need the military in the streets at that point.

I hope I am wrong. But the country was in the state I just described when FDR was elected. He pulled us back from the brink. Can history repeat itself? I'm not especially optimistic.

DU from 2005:

A Planet Full of Hitlers

The world's billionaires, led by the Bush "madministration," are acting like a planet of full of Hitlers. They are willing to invade whatever region in the world has what the world needs most -- oil.

Black gold. Texas tea. Petrodollars.

They figure they have all the money. And basically, apart from a Soros here and a Gates there, they do.

And thus, the world’s billionaires and their hounds of the BFEE want to spend it all before they die. And they have the plan and cash on hand to do so.

Consider the Bush agenda: All War. All the Time. Government spending for the MI-Complex, transferring trillions to the wealthy corporate owners, war and all.

These are the likes of the “industrialists” Mussolini, Franco and Hitler so loved.

And like the fascist trifecta, the American fascists of the BFEE have bought all the political power. Don't just think Tom Roach Motel DeLay and Mr. Friskie Frist. Remember Prescott Bush and Averell Harriman and Allen Dulles and Rheinhard Gehlen and Igor Orlov.

What can we do about it? They’ve bought all the legal power, built law schools for Federalist Society AND Opus Dei judges. Think Bill Eagle Eye Rehnquist and Antonin Fat Tony Scalia.

These turds of the BFEE have worked all the tax breaks and bankrupty laws for the rich. Uncle Sam reverse-Robin Hoods wealth to the top 1-percent of country.

And what do these rich turds who prop up Bush use their tax savings on? They certainly haven't invested it in making America a better place to work or live; they've invested in "off-shoring."

Lots of the tax money goes to buy more vacation homes, yachts and jet planes. Most goes offshore to the Caymans and Switzerland.

And of course they want more without having to pay for the damage to the environment. Farmland depletion in the USA. Rain forest depletion around the globe. Oceans getting acidic. Fish stock depletion. Global air pollution and water shortages.

Well. OK. Maybe a case can be made it’s the rich folk’s money. They can do what they want. But they should pay their fair share of taxes! After all, the rest of society helps keep them in their position. And its our brothers and sisters in the armed forces who are giving their lives to keep their oil and power and privilege.

Budget red ink means no money for middle class. No money for schools. No money for cities and suburbs and farms. No money for roads. No money for science and R and D. No money for the future.

And the media? What media? What Fairness Doctrine?

They cover up their materialism and venality with all the talk about Faith-based this and Conservative-values that. But the reality is these are sinister wolves and satanic bed-wetting bastards in sheep's clothing we are dealing with.

Wasn’t that what Bush really meant when he told Bob Woodward “History? Who cares about history? In a hundred years we’ll all be dead.”

Just like Hitler. And just like Hitler, Bush wants to take us all with him.

The only reason HW ran for office after Reagan, was to pardon the 100+ members of the Reagan years who had been indicted for their actions, and were facing trials.......

Today's supreme court is deeply involved in the final outcome. (I'm sure discussions are going on daily, between SC judges and some rethugs) 3 years of supreme court decisions ahead of us. THEY can stall and rule against Democrats, even if we control both houses. WE are in big trouble for the next 3 years. That's my thinking, for what it's worth. I keep this thought in my mind, "WHO'S GONNA STOP THEM?" Really hate to be so depressing, but that's where i'm at.

As for the Republicans, you would think they'd have some sense of self-preservation, but I guess they are all in on destroying our

country. Shameful, but they are no longer capable of shame. Does debasing yourself get to be a habit?

I can't listen to any of them anymore.

Lie after lie, vile and racist speech--nothing is too low for the majority of them. The few individuals from the Republican party that

are now trying to stop the wrecking ball, it's too little, too late. They will never wash off the stench of this administration.

I don't plan on giving up, but it's wearing on the soul. We must continue to fight back any way we can.

Take heart, the midterms are looming and it's scaring enough of the Republicans into acting against Trump that we got that truly

unhinged speech from the Screamer-in-chief. It should be a wake up call for the whole country, but I guess it's still baby steps!

Eloquent post as always, Mineral Man, thanks!

The oligarchs who own the R party tell them what to do and they obey even when they know something is
evil because $$$$$$$$$$ is more important to them than rights & wrongs.

In essence they are errand boys not congress people.

Both elected Democrats and grassroots supporters must make it clear that trump’s acquisition of the Kennedy Center is NOT ACCEPTABLE to the majority of Americans!!! Renaming the center will not make an ode of difference in shifting support!!! In fact it will only increase our outrage at trump’s attempt to screw with our history!!!

Records of things Trump did that need to be unwound once he is gone, and the R party disintegrates.

Too many inactive doom watchers at the moment.

It's the Anarchist Theorem in overdrive, I/we don't like the things the way they are, they are too complicated and the benefits to me/us of the current system aren't sufficient, so Burn It All down, and reap the benefits from the rebuild.

In short: Stand Back and Receive what is Owed to You!

Too bad the history of rebuilds of societies and infrastructure after a major war or disintegration tells us it is not spontaneous or rapid, nor painless.
Some societies never recover.

77. MaddowBlog-One day later, officials scramble to add Trump's name to the Kennedy Center
Fri Dec 19, 2025, 08:30 PM

It’s worth describing what transpired at the Kennedy Center accurately: A group of people vandalized one of the nation’s premier performing arts centers.

It’s worth describing what transpired at the Kennedy Center today accurately:

The president’s operation just vandalized one of the nation’s premier performing arts centers. www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...

Steve Benen (@stevebenen.com) 2025-12-19T20:59:47.413Z

https://www.ms.now/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/one-day-later-officials-scramble-to-add-trumps-name-to-the-kennedy-center

More importantly, Team Trump characterized the name change as a done deal, which it was not. Congress created the name for the Kennedy Center, and at no point did lawmakers delegate powers to the center’s board to rename the institution unilaterally.

The president’s operation, which has never been overly concerned with following laws, didn’t appear to care: By Thursday night, the center’s official website had been changed to include Trump’s name.

By Friday morning, crews were already hard at work. The Washington Post reported:

The Kennedy Center installed President Donald Trump’s name on its exterior Friday morning, a dramatic change to a building established by law as a ‘living memorial’ to a slain president. […]

A blue tarp was stretched across a portion of the building the next morning as a small team on scaffolding started the work. Loud drilling could be heard nearby. Inside the building, large letters spelling ‘Trump’ could be seen on the floor of the entry hall, according to a photograph obtained by The Washington Post.

It’s hard to know where to start with an initiative this ridiculous, but one of the first things that jumped out at me was the speed with which this came together. The president’s operation managed to acquire the materials, arrange the crews, secure the equipment and begin the installation work over the course of roughly half a day.

....Nevertheless, by midday Friday, the crews were gone and the arts center’s façade was changed.

I’m currently outside of the Kennedy Center:

Phil Lewis (@phillewis.bsky.social) 2025-12-19T19:46:00.030Z

.......At this point, we could talk about the weird double “the.” We could also joke about the fact that this is now apparently a “memorial center” to two people, one of whom is alive.

While we’re at it, we could draw attention to the fact that the fonts don’t exactly match — and given the Republican administration’s interest in type settings, this is tough to overlook — while simultaneously noting the encouraging fact that the placement of Trump’s name will make it easy to take it down in the future without disturbing the original lettering.....

The president and his team have already gone to outlandish lengths to vandalize the White House. They’re now adding additional buildings to their target list.

My guess is Laura Ingraham.

The board:

... Susie Wiles, Dan Scavino, Usha Vance, Pamela Bondi, Laura Ingraham, Allison Lutnick, Lynda Lomangino, Mindy Levine, John Falconetti, Sergio Gor, Emilia May Fanjul, Patricia Duggan, and Dana Blumberg, with Trump himself elected Chair. These new members replaced previous trustees and leadership, with Richard Grenell installed as interim President.
