There's nothing more stupid than Trump putting his name in front of, or even alongside of JFK's

....but there's very little more vulgar and insensitive than the convicted felon obviously insisting to the board of political loyalists he installed at the Kennedy Center that his name be included in the MEMORIAL center dedicated to the president who was ASSASSINATED in office.

In what universe is this remotely acceptable?

And what's next? The Trump/Kennedy eternal flame?

Trump/Lincoln Memorial?

National memorials are meant as places of healing after great loss for Americans to honor the deceased and acknowledge their grief; a communal place to reflect and remember those passed.

It's also a way to demonstrate that their contributions to the country are not forgotten. That sentiment is immutable, not an opportunity for self-aggrandizement, not an invitation to callously usurp the regard and affection meant for the individuals who have been honored and celebrated there.

Instead of respecting the enduring sadness of the death of President John Kennedy, Trump is gloming onto that tragically shortened legacy as if he's envious of the attention and regard given a fallen president of the United States.

Certainly he, and we, can only dream there would be an actual event or occasion for someone to commission such a National monument to his infamy.
