Kathy Hochul Will Sign Right-to-Die Bill
December 17, 2025 at 2:33 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 70 Comments

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Wednesday that she would sign a bill that will allow terminally ill New Yorkers to end their lives, using unusually personal language as she settled an emotional, decade-long battle between religious leaders and right-to-die advocates,” the New York Times reports.

“The law will apply to adults who have incurable, irreversible illnesses and six months or less to live, and each patient will need the sign-off of three doctors.”

But I don’t expect it to be even discussed in the Florida legislature any time soon.

I'm turning 70 soon, have seen and known people who died quickly and also slowly. I want a choice, and there are a lot of old people here who I am sure have had similar experiences.

And PS, I had to go to DMV today, and got to sign a petition to legalize weed in this county. Civic duty, baby!

Lots of box’s to check, lots of witnesses to “sign off.” I have a warped view of “ religious leaders” meddling in what could be mine or a loved ones decision. I’ll be as callous as I can. If you tell the “religious leaders” that you have not nor ever will drop a coin in their collection plate they’ll let you make your own decision.

She gets stuff done and has an opinion, not wishy-washy, exhibited by voting for the mayor-elect!
