C: There's a test for this in the la---
L: It's yes or no, Brendan! On your website, it simply says, man, 'the FCC is independent.' This isn't a trick question
C: The FCC is not
L: So is your website lying?

Carr tried to continue his answer, but Lujan again interjected informing Carr that his agencys own website had clear language on whether it was independent.
Just so you know, Brendan on your website it just simply says, man, The FCC is independent,' Lujan said. This isnt a trick question.

Possibly, Carr said. The FCC is not an independent agency.
Sure enough, the language on the website was hastily changed. Axios reporter Sara Fischer captured an image from the site at 11:52 a.m. ET, which said the FCC is an independent agency. By 12:08 p.m., that language was gone.

(68,198 posts)KIM: I want to read you a quote & see if you agree with it. 'Congress long ago determined that the FCC is an independent expert agency.' Is that correct?
— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) 2025-12-17T17:09:56.047Z
CARR: Senator, there has been a sea change in the law & approach since I wrote that sentence
KIM: Yes you did. You said it in front of Congress

CARR: Heheh. I don't get into the specifics of conversations
K: Would it be appropriate for him to give you direction to pressure media companies?
C: I'm not gonna get into hypotheticals
K: The easy answer is 'no'

(9,012 posts)Sure, he's ignoring the Constitution, but he's smart enough not to perjure himself or flat out admit he is going against the Constitution. But his refusal to answer questions makes it clear he knows he and Trump are breaking the law as defined in the Constitution.

(24,255 posts)He exemplifies Hispanic attitude and laid back style here in the west. I've lived in majority Hispanic CA my entire life and I've absorbed a lot of this attitude. He is "cool", no other word for it. But he gets his point across, doesn't he?
