The is a declaration and act of war without congressional approval, and imperialistic jingoism.

(555 posts)Back in the 60s when I was about 10 years old some country nationalized the oil in their country. I remember thinking, though clearly I was just repeating the political and media framing of the situation, why are they stealing OUR oil? Ive grown up since then and somewhere along the way I realized that it never was OUR oil they were stealing but it was Texacos or Exxons or BPs oil which of course had been stolen before.
Amazing so many of our fellow Americans are no smarter than a 10 year old.

(6,397 posts)what is the difference between a 'sanctioned oil tanker' and any other?
Going back decades, the Venezuelan people were bilked out of the natural resources of their own country until the people rightfully took it back and kicked out the criminal oligarchs that stole from them in the first place. I always notice how the only methods that keep the criminal thugs from again taking over and resuming the stealing are amazingly similar to the way the Fascists took power to begin with.

(8,720 posts)What he seems to be saying is that Maduro is responsible for the nationalization of Venezuela's oil.
But that actually started in 1976 with President Perez, then President Chavez further solidified government control, with Maduro finalizing full government control of all oil fields and production.
Just for the record, it was the big oil companies, like the ones Trump met with in the White House earlier this year, who lost ownership of the oil fields.
I wonder what they promised Trump in return for getting those holdings back?
We know he's not doing it for us.
And, I wonder how many American soldiers Trump is willing to sacrifice to that end?

(4,196 posts)deposits called Colton. And by the way Don Jr, is involved financially with the company that is leading the push to purchase and control this mineral in Venezuela.
It's always been said that F45 will become more dangerous the more cornered he becomes and with Jack Smith tomorrow (12/17), his TV speech tomorrow and Epstein files on 12/19 he's probably feeling like a cornered rat.

(555 posts)Your pointing out that Jack Smith is tomorrow and Epstein is coming down the pike are two solid reasons hes going to attack Venezuela.
