On Monday, WCCO's Esme Murphy reported that the agents were seen taking the woman from Karmel Mall in Minneapolis.
"People were screaming to let her go," Murphy said.
"We kept yelling, she's pregnant, she's pregnant, she's pregnant," one witness recalled, "they put their knees in her, and we kept telling them she can't breathe, let her up, let her up."
According to Murphy, the woman "who was handcuffed was suddenly being dragged by one arm as the angry crowd threw snowballs and screamed at the federal agents."

Nobody in control serms to have passion for higher ideals, just money.

(52,214 posts)tend to drown out those with passion for higher ideals. Our society has enabled the greedy for far too long and set them up as something to aspire to. It has become a part of our Western mythology.

(52,214 posts)It is something I think we are headed for. Between climate change, wars, pollution, etc., I believe it is inevitable and sadly necessary. People tend to be resistant to change and often need something major to shake them up.
I am relatively optimistic that day will come, but not in my lifetime.

(76,895 posts)I've wondered nearly every day for decades what will stop their greed & deceit.
At first, I was hopeful that COVID may have been "it." But of course, mostly only "little people" suffered the consequences of the pandemic, sadly.
I doubt I will see it come to pass in my lifetime either.

(52,214 posts)There were people who thought World War II would transform the world and it did somewhat for awhile, but the same negative forces eventually came roaring back especially as memories started to fade. Now we see the rise of authoritarian leaders all over the world, as if the monsters in the past never existed.
I suppose a huge factor contributing to positive change would be education and I personally believe we have to change the way we raise our boys.

Yes, many of these problems are transgenerational, hence, very difficult to overcome, especially when said subjects are reared to believe they are the universe's gift to all of creation.
Nice to meet & chat with you.

(13,233 posts)These people are despicable. I really think the reason that Trump and Republicans are trying so hard to get their dirty hands on voter information is to sic ICE on Democratic voters before an election. What ICE does to migrants can easily be done to citizens. In close elections, you only need to detain a few hundred to throw an election to Republicans. We are living in an unknown universe here, and three more years of Trump may turn the country into a living hell,
