Political wisdom from a guy who got filthy rich hitting a ball (thats standing still) with a stick. Weighs in on everything from the release of Abrego-Garcia to mass shootings. Trump loving, Saudi humping piece of crap. What a surprise his opinions are as disgusting as he is.
Yeah right Phil, what Australia needs right now are more lax gun laws.

You know this story, Initech. However, a briefing for those new to the subject:

Alex Carey: Corporations and Propaganda
The Attack on Democracy
The 20th century, said Carey, is marked by three historic developments: the growth of democracy via the expansion of the franchise, the growth of corporations, and the growth of propaganda to protect corporations from democracy. Carey wrote that the people of the US have been subjected to an unparalleled, expensive, 3/4 century long propaganda effort designed to expand corporate rights by undermining democracy and destroying the unions. And, in his manuscript, unpublished during his life time, he described that history, going back to World War I and ending with the Reagan era. Carey covers the little known role of the US Chamber of Commerce in the McCarthy witch hunts of post WWII and shows how the continued campaign against "Big Government" plays an important role in bringing Reagan to power.
John Pilger called Carey "a second Orwell", Noam Chomsky dedicated his book, Manufacturing Consent, to him. And even though TUC Radio runs our documentary based on Carey's manuscript at least every two years and draws a huge response each time, Alex Carey is still unknown.
Given today's spotlight on corporations that may change. It is not only the Occupy movement that inspired me to present this program again at this time. By an amazing historic coincidence Bill Moyers and Charlie Cray of Greenpeace have just added the missing chapter to Carey's analysis. Carey's manuscript ends in 1988 when he committed suicide. Moyers and Cray begin with 1971 and bring the corporate propaganda project up to date.
This is a fairly complex production with many voices, historic sound clips, and source material. The program has been used by writers and students of history and propaganda. Alex Carey: Taking the Risk out of Democracy, Corporate Propaganda VS Freedom and Liberty with a foreword by Noam Chomsky was published by the University of Illinois Press in 1995.

Gore Vidal on what Americans read, see and hear via Corporate McPravda:
"A writer must always tell the truth, unless he is a journalist."
The corporate grip on opinion in the United States is one of the wonders of the Western world. No First World country has ever managed to eliminate so entirely from its media all objectivity - much less dissent.
When you control opinion, as corporate America controls opinion in the United States by owning the media, you can make the masses believe almost anything you want, and guide them as you please.
The late Harold Pinter addressed Truth upon receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature:
Heres an observation from me, back in 2024 when SCROTUS birthed King Taco:
What hasnt gotten enough mention in the coverage of Trumps Imperial Immunity and discussion of what constitutes official and unofficial conduct on ABCNNBCBSFoxNutz is what the ruling really means: SCOTUS just used a Sharpie on the Constitution to write in Donald J Trump where it used to read We the People.

(17,467 posts)According to the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), as of December 16, 2025, there have been approximately 392 mass shootings in the U.S. this year. Where were all the "good guys with guns" in the U.S. when we needed them, Phil?
Hey, Phil...it's a good thing the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Uvalde Police Department weren't responsible for taking out the shooter in Australia. The death toll would have been much higher.
