When Caesar refers to himself in the third person, it is interpreted as an ominous sign that he already regards himself as royalty. Victoria took it even further, by using the plural: "We are not amused."

Seems the more distance he wants to put between himself and whatever it is, or the less interest he has in something, is when he starts to refer to himself in the third person.
