The United States has collected more than $200 billion in tariffs this year as a result of new duties imposed by President Donald Trump since the beginning of 2025, the Customs and Border Protection agency said Monday.
The tally comes as the Supreme Court considers arguments that the new tariffs are illegal.
The $200 billion tally is only for the new tariffs, not for tariffs imposed during Trumps first term in the White House. Those earlier tariffs do not face legal challenges, as the new tariffs do.
Trump earlier this year unilaterally imposed, without congressional authorization, what he calls reciprocal tariffs on imports from most of the worlds nations.

They will cheer him if he bribes them with a grand or two, not caring that they are still down 3-4 times that amount.
Just as the farmers he is bailing out will do despite the fact he caused their problems.

Oh, and I have my doubts about that $200 billion.
That's 0.75% of GDP. Theory says that should make inflation higher than reported.
So, they're either fudging the inflation numbers or the tariff revenue is overstated.
It can be a bit of both, but it can't be neither.
