Just asking! We all know the "Resolute Desk" left the Oval Office for "refinishing" ..... interesting!

How do we know the real "Resolute Desk" was returned to the Oval Office? It wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that the real desk is somewhere, waiting to find its reserved space in the presidential library. After all, there was a bathroom full of TOP SECRET documents that were procured illegally ..... all right, stolen. And then the White House East Wing was torn down WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION.

Just asking who DOES THE "Resolute Desk" belong to?

As long as it goes on it will get worse. The only remedy is remove, convict, and incarcerate.

A picture was posted of the one at Mar-A-Lago, behind velvet ropw...as if on display at a museum. Is it really a replica? Or is a reproduction in the oval?

I have asked that question. Someone needs to look in the drawers of the one on display at MAL. The inside will reveal its age.

One should be able to tell from the outside finish as well. But I have always been concerned that they would over-finish it. I don't trust them to use the right specialists for such a refinish. It should be handled with care and precision, to avoid "alteration". But I can see those morons over-polishing it.
