2 % inflation rate, my ass. Yesterday I went to the pet store for a melatonin

aid for my kitty. When I bought it last year, it was $8.99. In March, it was $11.99. Yesterday, it was $14.99. Now, I am not a math whiz, but my little brain tells me that is MUCH higher than 2%.

2. Yeah. My freezer has (what would be for me) an 18 month supply of frozen beans.

I hope that ends up being excessive, but I need the caffeine and this particular brand/bean is enjoyable for me to be able to drink black--which is my intent. Even if it gets "stale" I don't care. The caffeine will still be there.

a percolator which needs to have regular grind mixed with something very strong for my favorite taste. Peet's Major Dickson was 13.99 last week. And not for a pound. I think it's 10 oz now.

Granted it was at the expensive grocery store I can walk to, rather than the store I do most of my shopping at, but still. Insane.

Arabian Mocha Java (whole bean, thank you!) at the local Peet's Coffee House. Was $24.95/lb....it's not much cheaper than the price at the supermarket but you can't get a pound there...only 8 or 10 ounce bags.

12. Everything is over $10 now, and it's way less than a pound of coffee of course

When it goes on sale for $8.99 for one week, (or any price less than $10) buy as much as you can. Because when the sale is over, the NEW price will be up to $12.99. I'm buying every brand that goes on sale, even though I don't need coffee right now. Pretty soon I won't be able to afford it at all.

6. It's all ridiculously over-priced. And some may be gouging.

My husband purchased two gaskets for a pool pump and they were a total of $100.00. He checked and the items were built in the US. So, we suspect it was price gauging.

7. More of the economy is being driven by spending of the top 10%

I think that a lot of companies are engaging in aspirational pricing. For that top 10% prices can just be whatever and I think that more companies are targeting those consumers. Add the random tariff of the day, and a percentage of profit on that tariff and I see a lot of European cheeses at Publix on the high side of $20/lb.

I'm seeing similar increases on a variety of items.

I track my finances every morning...and intuitively, I can feel what is happening out there.

I really don't know how we are all getting by at this point.

It's impossible.

That's what keeps his teeth in his little bullying head.

CPI has been a bad measure for years as the Government has a conflict of interest as it is used to gauge increases in many benefits and obligations like pensions and Social Security itself.

The BLS has inflation pegged at 3% in their last reported reading. It's trending up and new data is coming soon.

When the BLS becomes corrupted and starts reporting fake numbers, everyone will know as there will be mass resignations from the career statisticians that work there.

At Ralph's supermarket yesterday. I did not buy it. It is a matter of principle. I am changing what I am consuming instead of paying for stuff that has tripled in price. This is high way robbery.

It wasn't truly helpful when we had commercial construction going on next door. But between it and the catnip/passionflower, and burrowing under multiple covers, my baby wss not completely freaked. The product is called "calm moments" by naturpet. I believe there is a fiormula for dogs as well.
