Police Renew Search for Gunman in Deadly Brown University Attack

Law enforcement officials in Providence, R.I., said late Sunday that they were releasing a person of interest they had detained in relation to the shooting at Brown University and continuing their search for the person who killed two people Saturday afternoon.

A new phenomenon for the Trump era: mass shooters who actually get away, too. Probably not a great idea to put a numbnuts troll in charge of the FBI.

More fine police work by Petty Kash, just like the Charlie Kirk shooting when he announced they had a suspect in custody, whom they soon released (after revealing his name, of course). But Kash had to have a proper FBI jacket before he could act like an idiot in public.

FWIW, a number of media outlets did not publish the guy's name.

Also, for what its worth, there were several posters here complaining that a name wasn't released quickly enough.

but that officials did not publicly identify him, suggesting a leak rather than an official announcement. Still, the damage is done, and nobody in law enforcement should have leaked that name.

Brown had to have their own campus police plus local police. I worked for my college police back in the day, and know that the response time has to be less than a few minutes for campus police. Plus the local town police force has a heavy presence near campuses.
