@atrupar
Melania is absolutely stone faced as Trump talks about how sad Steve Scalise's wife when he was shot but he "knows many wives who would not even be crying"

The remark seemed off under any circumstance, but at the White Houses Congressional Ball, it was downright weird.
Trump was completing shoutouts to prominent Republicans when he turned to Scalise, who survived the shooting at a congressional softball game practice and is now in his ninth term in the House.
I went to the hospital and they actually thought he wasnt going to make it, Trump said. His wife was devastated. She was crying. I tell the story. I found out that night you have a wife that loves you dearly. I know many wives who would not even be crying.

(54,300 posts)When two of his casino executives died in a helicopter crash in 1989, Trump attended the funeral for Mark Grossinger Etess. Etess' brother broke down in tears while delivering the eulogy.
Trump remarked how he could never do what Estess' brother did. When pressed to clarify, Trump did just that: he said that he could never cry like that in public and "look like any asshole".

Speaking Tuesday at a Republican fundraiser, President Donald Trump reportedly cracked kind of, sort of that First Lady Melania Trump would not be overcome with grief if he was in a tragedy.
According to Politico, the president was referring to Rep. Steve Scalise, who was wounded in a mass shooting in 2017, when he said: [Scalises spouse] cried her eyes out when I met her at the hospital that fateful day I mean, not many wives would react that way to tragedy. I know mine wouldnt.
President Trump, 73, made the remark while speaking for about an hour at a fundraiser for Take Back the House 2020, the joint fundraising committee of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, according to Politico, which described Trump as unscripted, unfiltered and totally in his element.

The jaw, moving side to side, gripping the lectern, the smirk.
And yeah, that sing-song voice.
I can no longer listen to him...not even for a few seconds.

(226 posts)Hes such an ass! Hes humiliated her with the Stormy situation in the public eye. It was apparent she was relived when his first term was over. It was clear she wanted none of it.
And when he decided to run again, she likely had to postpone divorce or other separation agreements. She has been as unsupportive as she can be. Id want $$ for being his public escort as well.
And now the Epstein stuff is coming to light and shes implicated as well.
She knows his background and his addictions. She may be relieved to know his days are numbered and may not be crying when hes gone.
Im trying not to defend her (she made her bed) but I wont be crying either for the final exit of this utter disaster of a human being.
