This is the headline from an article dated 12/10/25 and updated on 12/12/25 from an NPR website from Cincinnati with a byline from Nick Swartsell. The article notes:
"Cincinnati Police arrested Samuel Saxon Dec. 5 after a witness said they saw him put a woman who is living with him in a chokehold. A complaint filed in Hamilton County courts notes responding officers observed "visible injuries" on the neck of the alleged victim. A neighbor said Saxon was screaming at the woman and trying to drag her into their Corryville apartment, according to prosecutors. That neighbor recorded audio of part of the incident."
Nice guy right? He was the assistant director in the Cincinnati field office for ICE-American Gestapo. Not surprisingly he previously kept his job despite the police being called to the residence 23 times in about 18 months. He does appear now to finally be "suspended". I guess firing him would be too questionable for them.
Maybe the reluctance of the department was they weren't convinced there was a problem. Or maybe they just turn their head until things go public. The prosecutor notes some of the history of this couple:
"Prosecutors say one incident in April resulted in a broken pelvis for the woman, though no charges were filed against Saxon. And the history of violence stretches back further, according to Rinehart."
Yes indeed the victim also got a broken nose in another incident in 2018 when they lived in Virginia. Her nose was so bad she had to have surgery. But the history of DV generally in this country is filled with phrases about how the injuries to DV victims "happened". Broken bones? She "fell down". Broken nose? She "walked into a door". Etc., etc. to a sickening continuation of excuses. Yes indeed and according to the article one out of state prior incident when the cops were called found Saxon in the bathroom holding a knife to his own neck.
The article concludes that :
"Saxon received a $400,000 straight bond Friday. If he posts bail, he'll be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, avoid possessing firearms and stay away from the alleged victim."
DV victims around the country know how that goes.
