Humans are doing an awful lot of watching. Has it always been like this?

Watching as a serial lying psychopath tramples the constitution, people's rights, and decency itself

Watching as the heat is turned up on our planet due to the greed of those who value wealth over our future

Watching as health costs, already too high, prepare to explode upward, leaving countless people to suffer and have to make choices, none of them good

Watching as the politicians that they elect do anything but support the will of the people

This is only a small sample of what we humans are watching.

All of the above happens as those same humans spend (waste) countless hours watching inane reels or videos on whatever screen that is at their disposal.

That's why *rump, DeSantis, and their ilk hate the idea of woke so much, but they're as King Canute trying to tell the tide to stop.

Thanks for the thread NewHendoLib

Despite what media would like to imply, we are not meant to live alone. So like most herd/pack/troop animals, we will sit and watch while the stronger pack members sort out the hierarchy and let the majority, who really just want to live without stress, know the direction the group is supposed to go, not to mention what it means to be part of the group.

However, if a shitty leader type bubbles up and takes over the pack, it's a disaster for everyone.

Had to edit to finish the sentence that sort of hung out there.

The world population spends hours death scrolling. They think they're participating in democracy by Liking things.

But I am putting an end to it this week (some old timey lite internet use aside - i.e. DU and teevee a couple of hours before bed).

I finally figured out how to use DU as I would. Well while EarlG and Elad allow it.

I have been taking liberties with my reckless posting style lately (in the last 5 years really).
But all bad things must come to an end and I am wrapping it up.
