When down in Florida, as in Georgia, I kept my opinions to myself when I met other people. I was in Glynn County. Very RED.

As for praying for MAGA voters to suffer, I hope you're including the large number of wealthy MAGA who gave us the orange Shitler. They will always vote for billionaires. The lower economic MAGA we need to reach out to. I talked to someone fitting that lower MAGA profile recently. You'd be surprised at the comments. We need them. We need to allow some space for them to recover from Cult Life.

Praying for the rich to suffer is useless because they don't suffer. They always have a way out of any jam.

The reason Trump was successful with a large group of so called conservatives is he gave them permission to express their racism and sexism openly. The only reason they might be unhappy with him now is because they are feeling personally what they wished on others. The republicans who the red states voted for just got rid of their health care subsidies, as the saying goes enjoy the the day you voted for.

And speaking out wherever possible, which I do. We're in sync.

I agree that many of the lower level MAGA are racist, sexist, hetero-ist, (name your group) Haters-- basically mean selfish jerks. But they take the rap for the rich business-oriented exploiters, who ALSO voted for Pedo King in a big way and didn't bother to go to the mass rallies. They know they can just work behind the scenes. We have no chance of winning them over. They are never going to be on the side of the people. Never going to care about democracy. They only care about amassing money, and stuff. But they always get a pass, while we blast away at the stupid base, the cult followers. We need to look harder at the leaders, the perpetrators. The rich corporate MAGA are not stupid--they know exactly what they are doing. There are a LOT of them.

The lower level MAGA sheeple sometimes see their mistake when they suffer, and can change because of that. But the rich MAGA don't suffer and therefore don't see any mistake. We need to know the enemy.

Canada, both from international tourists to domestic tourists who have decided to holiday in their own country this past year. Trump thought our country was going to crumble and while we are having the same problem as US citizens, with high prices, we have added jobs every month and kept our inflation rate in check and so interest rates are much lower than US. We still have some hurdles but have signed up with Europe's SAFE for security and paid $16m to join which gives us access to $150B in military contracts. We will likely turn to Sweden for new military jets and Germany for new Submarines and have already signed with Australia for some of our Arctic defence. After reading the National Security Strategy of the US, we are preparing to train 300,000 citizen soldiers, which is really fucked up but we do not trust the US anymore and with Trump's alignment with Putin, it puts us in danger.

There will always be those Canadians that don't have any principles and travel to the US but Trump is even turning them away. It will be a very very long time, if ever we look at the US as a solid friend, rather just an acquaintance to be leery of, because of the way people vote there.

In 2025, tourism from foreign visitors is down $12.5 billion dollars. That represented a decline of 14% in foreign visitors. Canadians especially declined to visit the US with a decrease of 26% over 2024.

Overall, the US tourism industry contributes $2.6 trillion to the economy and represents over 20 million jobs. As the US economy continues to slow and people have little discretionary money due to Trump’s tariff taxes, domestic tourism will also decline.

Trump’s efforts to keep black and brown people from visiting, along with anyone who has ever criticized his stupidity, will decimate our tourism and cost millions of jobs. Welcome to Republicans latest effort to turn the US into a has-been nation.

like the agricultural inspection stations entering California, or the bordecr patrol interior checkpoints, seems difficult to believe, and would be extremely disrupting. But so was the supremacist court picking the president, the Senate leader refusing to even give a hearing to the other party's supreme court nominee, and so many things that Trump has done.
Of course if there was any real opposition to what Trump would no doubt characterize as a "national security measure to control terrorism" he could always declare a state of emergency and use his 178 billion dollar police force.
I'm sure that companies would be able to buy Trump placards for their commercial vehicles to let them pass quickly. And for people travelling by plane, we all go through a TSA checkpoint whether we are travelling internationally or not.

The commies built a physical wall around West Berlin to keep people in the East from escaping to West Berlin. There were also fences and no-man's-lands at other East German borders with the West.

The U.S. is building a bureaucratic wall to keep people from entering. That's how you "deconstruct the administrative state," right?

(Decades ago I spent an afternoon walking through East Berlin. There were no obstacles to entering East Berlin but upon leaving there was a series of at least three checkpoints where they closely examined my passport/identification to make sure I wasn't an East German trying to escape.)
