After reading the National Security Strategy of the US, we are preparing to train 300,000 citizen soldiers, which is really fucked up but we do not trust the US anymore and with Trump's alignment with Putin, it puts us in danger.

There will always be those Canadians that don't have any principles and travel to the US but Trump is even turning them away. It will be a very very long time, if ever we look at the US as a solid friend, rather just an acquaintance to be leery of, because of the way people vote there.

The commies built a physical wall around West Berlin to keep people in the East from escaping to West Berlin. There were also fences and no-man's-lands at other East German borders with the West.

(Decades ago I spent an afternoon walking through East Berlin. There were no obstacles to entering East Berlin but upon leaving there was a series of at least three checkpoints where they closely examined my passport/identification to make sure I wasn't an East German trying to escape.)
