(4,658 posts)Aka did Pence have anything to do with this?
Either way, quite funny. I wonder if they will lose their funding like Trump threatened to do.

(129,795 posts)would have spread out Republican voters really thin making them extra vulnerable to a huge blue wave election. That was part of it I think.

(10,459 posts)trump better think long and hard before taking away all funding for Indiana. Hoosiers may lean Republican, but they've been known to vote for Democrats if they're pissed at repubs.

(1,366 posts)The Republicans have already been with holding all kinds of money and assistance that was designated for Colorado, and other BLUE states also, and is making life miserable for us Colorado citizens......The Rural Colorado, and Colorado Springs voters that voted for him are already learning the effects of having voted for Trump and other Republicans.........The Republicans are already throwing them under the bus, along with us, once the RepubliCONs won the election........
My message to everyone of those REPUBLICAN MAGA Voters that are NOW also getting screwed over royal and complaining...

threats by Trump to cut off all financing to the
state.
That's pretty impressive.

not. I predict his threats are hollow too, further weakening him.

(3,479 posts)FatAss threw him a lifeline because he was done here. This state non gerrymandered is probably 45/55 blue/red. The state legislature knows this all to well.

(56 posts)so allow me to add some perspective. There was a strong upswell of opposition from Indiana citizens of all political stripes, and to their credit 31 of the Senators listened to their voters and acted accordingly. Democrats were especially organized and vocal in spearheading the opposition, but part of the opposition came from rural voters in the hinterlands who feared that a map that carved up Indianapolis would lump them in with big-city voters and dilute their voices. They especially feared the rich monied Republicans of Indy ignoring their concerns.
There is a very strong sentiment against Indianapolis in the General Assembly, as evidenced by its history of passing legislation that disadvantages the city to the benefit of other parts of the state. Of course, that's terribly shortsighted, given that Indianapolis is far and above the most important economic engine in the state.
One final note: The state is already gerrymandered, with Republicans holding 73 percent of the seats in the General Assembly and 80 percent of the Congressional delegation despite only receiving, on average, about 55 percent of the vote statewide. So, a fair map, which our Trump lackey governor Mike Braun claimed this rejected monstrosity would be, would mean Republicans would not have a supermajority in the General Assembly and the Congressional delegation would be 5-4 in favor of Republicans. But, of course, fairness is not the aim of Trump and his sycophants.

He is just growing weaker and weaker and is starting to lose his grip, even on the base. Now we just need the WH press corps to start growing a spine.

(24,184 posts)very involved in the Indiana redistricting. Yeah, sure, trumpie. He also said it's only a couple of seats. CNN also reported that Don Jr. threatened to campaign personally against any Rs who voted against it.
Guess that didn't faze them.

(114,345 posts)to ;cut off all funding to the state. Part of me hopes Fatso is stupid enough to follow through with it, I imagine articles of impeachment will be filed immediately and they might have a chance of sticking, since Indiana is one of the reddest states in the country and Republicans will be the ones trying to oust him.

Mikey has to be the most cluesless Repig in Congress, he's either in denial of the tsunami coming against repigs in Congress in 2026, or he's a liar, or both.
Whatever it is, please Mikey, proceed with your message to the American people.
