Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

(7,438 posts)This is totally bonkers! That he can actually *believe* what HE is saying, is ridiculous and just proves how far gone he really is. Now, if only the deterioration of the body would hurry up and catch up with the deterioration of his mind, I'd be very happy. I still look forward to dancing in the street when he's dead... I may have to have my cane to help me stay upright... or maybe I'll just be joyful enough to not care if I fall down while celebrating! I so look forward to the day when I can, once again, feel joy and a semblance of peace.

(7,438 posts)to get a baseline we can draw from as years go by. If he's had 3 of these exams, that means *someone's* noticing his declining health and is trying to do the least possible to not draw attention to it. Miller propping him up? Ivanka caring for her father? (ha!) Who will be the one to spill all the beans?!

(38,308 posts)Under Medicare, early annual screening for dementia is legally required.
It doesn't have to be a formal test - ordinarily my doctor makes the assessment based on our conversation during the visit. This year, his nurse (New to his office) used a few questions from the MOCA. Some doctors use the MOCA regularly on their geriatric patients to satisfy the legal requirements.
Medicare sets the standard for geriatric care, so it is completely normal for any patient 65 or older to have taken the treat each year of that is the tool they screen for dementia - and means nothing about his cognitive health.
Not only that, but it is a rudimentary screening test, and only picks up moderately advanced dementia - so it would never be used to measure the rate and progress of his decline.
Now - the fact that he thinks it is a hard test, and that hardly anyone aces it does say something about his cognitive health.

(445 posts)Seriously! Do MAGAs just let each other die too soon and they never get to this point? They don't have the best healthcare in their areas. They voted against funding it. Without federal programs they wouldn't have healthcare, electricity, internet, paved roads, streetlights, traffic signals and signs.

(22,220 posts)He is trying to convince himself as much as he is trying to convince anyone else! That's how it works with narcissists. He's so desperately, profoundly insecure that he has to constantly build himself up (and up and up) to keep his narcissistic facade intact. The day he can no longer do that, he'll fall apart completely. Sad!

(5,412 posts)My hearing is sub par and my hearing aids I paid $3000 for never worked right. I did not even have them in my ears when I took the test. It is on an I-pad and I told the woman I could not hear what it said. She said the volume was as high as it would go. So I was left to take a test that vocally explained the questions and I could hear none of it. In other words, I had no clue what they wanted me to do. So, I just tapped on things that popped up on the screen. I was laughing when the test was over and told my son they would think I am a blithering idiot. Imagine my surprise when I passed it with flying colors. It is the same test the orange idiot took and is soooooo proud of.

(20,091 posts)Mix equal parts rubbing alcohol and white vinegar. Using a dropper, place a couple of drops in each ear. Very helpful. Would likely help you even with hearing aids.

(9,154 posts)and get a pair that works. I've been wearing aids for 39 years and mistakes have been made. If you've already done that, shop around-you are worth it.

He is so stupid, he can't see that with all of his signs, the doctors have to keep checking him!
