NJ-09: Pou may face GOP challenge from wife of former NFL star

Tiffany Glenn Burress, an attorney and the wife of ex-New York Giants star Plaxico Burress, is emerging as a potential candidate against Rep. Nellie Pou (D-North Haledon) in the 9th congressional district.

If Burress were to enter the race, it would add an unpredictable new dimension to the race for the Paterson-based 9th district, which – despite being one of 13 districts nationwide in 2024 that elected a House Democrat while voting for Donald Trump – has yet to attract a huge amount of national attention or fundraising.

Burress’s interest in the race was first reported yesterday by Inside Elections.

A native of Pennsylvania and a former college track star, Burress works at the New Jersey law firm of Brandon J. Broderick as a workers’ compensation and personal injury attorney. She lives in Totowa (a Passaic County suburb located a few miles outside the boundaries of the 9th district) with her husband, who spent 14 seasons in the NFL, including four with the Giants and one with the Jets.

I've ever had. He was constituent oriented and held veterans in the highest regard. It is vitally important to get behind Nellie Pou. Tie Burress to Trump and never let up.
