I was wondering why that admiral so willingly showed the video to congress.

It obviously shows a murder in full detail. One that someone is ultimately responsible for.

Then I thought back to Hegseth saying kill them all. He seemed quite proud of the decision.
Then he learned that it was a very real war crime, one that will be over his head for life. He would not be able to leave the country lest he may be arrested.

So all of a sudden he changed it to claim the admiral in charge made the decision to kill them but he supported him fully.

When asked why he was watching the attack in real time and, as the commanding officer, didn't stop the 2nd strike, he said he didn't see the two survivors. That throws it back to the admiral again. Hegseth was told to produce the video and he stalled then refused.

Now Admiral Scapegoat himself brings it in for Congress to decide for themselves if Hegseth would have missed seeing those two survivors.
By all accounts he could not have missed it so the responsibility goes back up to Secretary Talk Show.

I think the best metaphor here is someone caught a hot potato.

1. Someone, earlier today said the people conducting the bombing were in fear if they didn't kill the survivors.

Im not a war person but that didn't make any sense.
Didn't they use a drone? Or a high-powered several million dollar plane? How could they have been in danger from 2 guys in a sinking 🚢 boat?

Five year olds think of better excuses for stealing cookies than these murderous morons can think up.

...to kill a few bottom level drug traffickers.
Like if I were killing flies with a 12 gauge shotgun. I'd have to really hate flies.

The reckoning may not come until the regime is ended with the impeachment and removal of Trump&Vance in 2027 or voted out in 2028, but it must come.

Never again can we allow the intolerable and immoral "let's just move forward" excuse for letting perpetrators off the hook.

It is all that "looking forward not back" by Democratic administrations that helped pave the road to our current hell.

the reason that Kegsbreath had to leave the attack video for an important meeting.

The meeting was extremely important to Kegsbreath, it was with James Beam and Jonathan Walker.

The admiral knows, even if he can't/won't admit the kind of people with whom he is involved. He doesn't want some AI, or otherwise altered, video coming out.

He might show that Hegseth knew about and approved the killing of shipwrecked people, but, he is still in the chain of command making this illegal decision. Maybe he and Pete can share a cell at Leavenworth, along with the pilot and shooter (maybe the same person?) who fired the weapon.

Nobody in the chain stood up and said "Oh, hell no!"

This Admiral may very well know what he is doing, and could be aiming to get Hegseth court martialed.

He might slowly be realizing that Democratic veterans are not the only ones who could be called back to active duty. But he also might be realizing theres a higher likelihood if one commits war cries...

He ultimately has no power in this case outside of resigning. If he had resigned, he wouldn't be able to demonstrate something that has likely happened in other cases but wasnt puicized.
Despite what I said, I see your point and do not disagree. Though the value of his actions could earn him substantially less time.

How is it possible for anyone who survives a blown up boat to get on a cell phone or radio ? If it did happen, does anyone think maybe they were calling for help? Does anyone think they cared at all about the cargo while treading water next to a burning boat? None of this makes any sense except..
We are engaged in an illegal, aggressive activity in international waters and committing murder.
