(57,391 posts)I have returned stuff without a receipt, they just needed my member card, and looked up the purchase.

(4,571 posts)I find the huge store overwhelming, and when I'm in the area, the parking lot is overflowing and chaotic.
I have issues with large brightly lit crowded places to the point where I get dizzy and need to sit down before I have a full fledged panic attack.
But
Because of this, I will put on my big girl pants and join.
I'll find the least crowded time to go.
Go Costco!

(2,741 posts)My Costco's hours:
Mon-Fri: 9:00 AM - 8:30 PM
Sat: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sun: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
So it's not open very late, although I don't know if you like to be out after dark, which even early hours will put you in wintertime.
Getting there right when they open is second best, because a lot of shoppers have the same idea.
Going anytime in the middle of the day is the worst, it can be a zoo for sure, inside and outside.
But going at 6:00 when they close at 8:30 is a much calmer experience.
Good luck!

(14,889 posts)The membership is free. At least in my case, it is. But I put many miles on the car for my job.
IF you pay the entire bill every month, you will come out ahead.
Also, exec. membership gets you in the door at 9:00. Regular membership, door opens at 10:00.

(4,308 posts)You get a refund check each year that basically pays to renew your membership.

(14,889 posts)Thanks for the update. My annual check cranks to about $200.

(8,025 posts)But I do get some pantry items, vitamins, sometimes bigger items, and such via their website. Their shipping is generally pretty fast. If you live close to one, they offer some items for next day to 2 day shipping.

Im sorry its difficult for you to do things other people take for granted Mossfern.
It must make things next to impossible sometimes.

(3,973 posts)Members do get really good discounts, plus we get our glasses made there more affordably, others get hearing aids, tires, etc. Some of those would need to be done in-store, but you could go directly to the department you need and then get out.

(3,107 posts)Went there on a Sunday thinking they opened at 9:00. They opened at 10, but I got a great parking spot and waited until 10:00. (Reading to bide the time)(Murakami's IQ84, since you asked, a massive but absorbing and delightful book)
,Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah, at 10:00 I got out of my car and found myself at the end of an already long line of customers, walking towards the building in a kind of shuffle-foot zombie herd march. I was amazed at how quickly the line filled and extended. Because people love COSTCO. Because people depend on COSTCO. Because COSTCO is one of the few corporations in this shambles of a Country that gives a damn about quality, about its customers, and about its employees.

(39,496 posts)The Sams Club near me is in a high traffic area and is crowded no matter what day or time youre there. I avoid it at Christmas time like the plague. My husband likes their frozen salmon fillets so we keep our membership but I wouldnt care at all if he cancelled it.

(11,605 posts)The second Costco opened a year ago and I suspect that somehow Costco pushed Sam's Club out of the way. I don't mind that so much since I hate Walmart and only go there for things I really need. Otherwise, I'll go anywhere else expect Walmart.

(30,906 posts)2,000 dollars from that tariff money? Maybe Krasnov better think twice, that is, if he still has the tariff money, maybe he converted it to Bitcoin?

balls are WEAK

(22,070 posts)It's annoyingly sexist, whether it's meant that way or not. Why? Because it implies that only cis men (and trans women who haven't had bottom surgery) are capable of having qualities such as courage, and that's just plain wrong.
I usually try to ignore it, but seeing that I'm not the only one who objects to it makes me feel more comfortsble chiming in.
Believe it or not, some of us really don't care how big anybody's balls are!

(1,314 posts)their food at Costco and Wallmart, as well as Sams, which is owned by Walmart.
With people increasingly having less money, fewer will be going out to dinner, lunch, breakfast and indirectly I wonder if that will take a chunk of revenue away from those outlets.
BTW, the Walmart Clan doesn't seem to be suffering for their massive profiteering. They now own, almost every Major Sports team in Denver.......Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets, etc etc. The only one they don't own is the Colorado Rockies Baseball Team, and no intelligent person would buy the rockies due to being at a high altitude.......
