Its time to start arresting ICE agents

a judge in chicago just found that ICE is vioalting a consent decree they signed over warrentless arrests.
start arresting ICE agents and treat them the same way ICE is treating people they arrest.
start with those in charge.
and if they talk back or struggle at all throw in resisting arrest and obstruction charges.

Police are not on our side. They will default to supporting authority.

If they were ordered by their local governments to do specific things to protect the residents of their cities and states, they might comply. But without that explicit direction, they will default to helping ICE regardless of legality or morality.

Wouldn't be surprised if they are publicly drunk, if they are disorderly, if they like to start fights, if they troll for prostitutes, if they drive like they are above the law.

All of these actions violate State and Local law, and since they are off-duty, they have no legal defense.

Wed Oct 8, 2025, 04:41 PM

-- Prohibits the use of ski masks and other coverings that conceal identity for federal and local law enforcement officials.
Who is included: Federal agents, such as ICE agents, and local police are covered.
Who is excluded: The ban does not apply to state police, which would exclude the California National Guard

Proponents of the California law said it is especially needed after the Supreme Court ruled last month that the Trump administration can resume its sweeping immigration operations in Los Angeles. The law aims to boost public trust in law enforcement and stop people from impersonating officers to commit crimes, supporters said.

Constitutional law expert Erwin Chemerinsky at the University of California, Berkeley, also defended the legislation. Federal employees still have to follow general state rules “unless doing so would significantly interfere with the performance of their duties."

His opinion, with links.

https://archive.ph/AX6fV

September 21, 2025, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the "No Secret Police Act" (Senate Bill 627), which bans most law enforcement officers, including federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, from wearing masks to conceal their identities while on duty. It goes into effect in Jan 2026, but it's on the books.

But in that case, Newsom still wouldn't want that kind of 'incident,' since it probably would be reported to Trump/NOEM, who are just waiting for any pretext the felon could use to invoke the 'insurrection' act, and then dare the state to take him to court. So far, AG's Rob Bonta and Kwame Raoul have their hands full.

If they're free to mask up in this federal v state context, I still don't see that as a problem or even a potential one.

Wed Oct 8, 2025, 09:23 PM

Regardless of what Newsom says - he would seem to be swimming upstream on the issue - given that there is relatively strong legal precedent saying that state and local authority cannot arrest (and/or prosecute?, nor proscribe action?) of federal agents/officers while engaged in official acts.

Senate Bill 627, which would prohibit federal officers from wearing masks during their operations, drew the heaviest media coverage and a dismissive response from administration officials.

We don’t need to abide by this garbage,” Tricia McLaughlin, deputy secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, posted on X.

Bill Essayli, the acting U.S. attorney for the central district of California, said on social media that the new mask law would have no effect on federal operations. Many California law enforcement groups also oppose the law.

69. I don't have a 'fix'.
Thu Oct 9, 2025, 11:29 PM
Oct 2025

To fix it is to just allow things to stay as they are, which will just make this all happen again. My solution is to let it collapse, which will remove those who are at the 'top' of the chain. Once they have no power, we can start with some regulations that will hopefully create a more equitable society for everyone, even those who do not feel that greed is a virtue.

This is my position on how to 'fix' what has happened to our society. Which is a decidedly unpopular position to have. But, I do not have the faith that some have in our judicial branch. I do not think that is what will save us. I do not have the faith in the societal model that we are currently under because it created this in the first place. I think that trying to retain it while throwing on another bandaid is just going to prolong what is going on, as well as allowing another Trump further down the road.

My solution is too radical. I am forced to accept that. I think it can be done, but no one cares about what I think. They just want my vote, or my back, or my legs, or whatever part of me that can be exploited to create a society that I find more and more repulsive each day. Unfortunately, I am a very poor choice for a radical leader. My health is beyond pitiful and I am not physically appealing (which is more than adequate for being listened to, doesn't matter if you actually know anything or not, looks can get you far in our society), so I cannot hope to interest anyone in what I have to say, nor implement any ideas I might have to try and change things anyway.

Besides, it is apparent to me that enough of us do not want things to change much at all. So, just keep doing what you all are doing. I won't be around much longer anyway. Maybe I got too excited at the prospect of finally seeing a situation that could lead to some real change in our society. But, I guess I was being too... deluded?

I recently read where someone said that they find it funny that some of us think that we are going to vote our way out of this. So do I.
But, I have been wrong before, and I have been right before. Only time will tell which one it will be.

...a Portland cop threatens to arrest an ICE agent if he runs his car into protestors.

The Portland Police haven't exactly covered themselves in glory when it comes to protests, and that started long before the 2020 BLM protests. Even the night before the Women's March in Jan. 2017, Portland PD pinned peaceful protestors up against the river at Waterfront Park and brought tear gas launchers onto the bridges. And of course, no one is ever going to forget "Tear Gas Tuesday" during the BLM Protests where cops blanketed the downtown with tear gas at 5pm on a workday! They were even tossing canisters into traffic when people were just trying to go home from work.

These are just a couple of examples. The point is, you know it's bad when a Portland cop has to talk down a federal ICE agent just to keep him from committing a terrorist attack on peaceful protestors.

ICE is Stephen MIller's Gestapo complete with quotas to meet. It's long overdue that they start facing consequences for their actions!

Most of the thugs sent out into the streets of blue cities aren't even government agents. They are just hired mercenaries who have no written authority whatsoever to be assaulting, kidnapping and shooting at civilians who are guilty of nothing. These goons should be arrested, booked and prosecuted for crimes committed, just like anyone else who can present no justification for violent crime."I vas chust following orders" hasn't cut it since the Nürnberg trials.

If they resist arrest, well, cops these days seem to know full well how to handle that. "Stop resisting" seems to be something they can shout in their sleep. If the contracted goons resist with weapons, local law enforcement should be prepared to respond in kind. Once the Sturmabteilung is allowed to take over, it will already be too late.

More of a ruckus should have been raised when Trump goons were taking people into unmarked vans during protests during his last term. A lack of outrage then has led to ICE goons now.

I’m so damned sick and tired of the leadership refusing to act against criminal and/or unethical practices the right pulls off. Whether it’s to preserve norms, comity, “not to tear the country apart” or whatever, there should have been efforts made. Even if the chance of success was slim, things should have been done.
