(112,793 posts)--are two mega fireworks warehouses selling munitions-level fireworks/"pyrotechnics" to all the testosterone-controlled teens that can get there to spend (literally) $$$ hundreds to blow their hands and faces off on ILLEGAL "ordinances" and fireworks.
I hear these ads constantly and know some fool is going to set off a major wildfire OR GRASSFIRE--which under dry conditions could occur ANYWHERE, destroying thousands of acres, houses, killing wildlife and the horses, cows, goats and others that can't be quickly evacuated, and yes, PEOPLE.
I am so disgusted. Fireworks demonstrations sanctioned by local authorities under the control of EXPERTS are one thing that we can all enjoy. This crap, like nearly totally unregulated firearms, is quite another.

(39,636 posts)People seem to think fireworks are safe, its gunpowder the precursor to all explosives and ammunition.
When building the NY City Aqueduct which went from upstate to the NY city the were lots of accident with explosives.
A common cause of death, blown to the atoms. Sadly, its was usually recent immigrants the met this fate.
We won't know what went wrong until they can stabilize the scene and talk with the survivors.
